everyone with real American manliness and a basic knowledge of military history knows that serious war efforts have never been derailed by such trifling matters as "communicable diseases"

Man dumped 50 dead hares at Hampshire shop, court hears James Kempster is on trial also accused of smearing animal blood over the shop's windows.

I confidently predict that the psychiatric reports in this case are going to be absolutely wild.

The classic reaction image of the four guys on a couch excited and pointing at something. Each of them has the "Sickos" face pasted over his head.

Anyway, I'm hoping that the BBC got the picture wrong. Surely nobody is that stupid?

Yes, I know that the DLR in London started with a single articulated car per unit because they half-arsed it. That was never interurban. Also they wised up pretty quickly and now it runs with three articulated cars per unit, approximately equivalent to a 5 car conventional train.

Also, it is not clear whether that picture is actually of the new metro but I have questions. Why is the front black? Isn't that the least safe colour? Why is it only a three car unit? You can't run a interurban metro with three car units.

India has splurged billions on metro trains. But where are the commuters? Without better last-mile connectivity and affordable fares, metro use is unlikely to improve quickly, say experts.

People not using the nice new trains? Still choking in their stupid cars? Here's an idea. Shove a congestion charge on the cities and use the money to subsidise the metro. Yes, I am a genius and nobody has ever thought of this before.

In the immortal words of Leonard Cohen:

Everybody knows.
Everybody knows.
That's how it goes.
Everybody knows.

Whatever next? They'll be telling us that Al Capone didn't pay taxes?

Seriously though, this is the story of the 1930s. Everybody knew what the Nazis stood for but nobody wanted to say it. When mentioned at all it was wrapped in evasions and euphemisms. Everybody knew!

The insider trading suspicions looming over Trump's presidency The BBC has found a pattern of spikes in trades ahead of public announcements by the US president.

Suspicions?

Suspicions???

Nothing gets past these elite reporters! Trump being obviously and unabashedly corrupt is literally a news beat from the 1980s!

Genuinely I think it would be a sound strategy to go absolutely all in on calling these people satanic idolators

Maybe some crumbs of lasting value will drop out with the debris when the AI bubble bursts but mRNA technology is proven good. How far can it be pushed? Hard to say. It can't cure everything but we have only begun to explore its potential. If the USA abandons it, other countries will pick it up.

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

When Angela Rayner underpaid ยฃ40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensibleโ€ and she should resign if she had โ€œany moral decencyโ€.

Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying ยฃ100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform

This is the most depressing version of the hotdog guy meme. They are all trying to find the guy who did this.

Joanne closed her helpline for single parents right around when she announced she'd be donating heavily to anti-trans causes. They closed because of lack of funding.

She's a billionaire.

She doesn't care about "single mums".

NEW: Richard Tice failed to pay almost ยฃ100,000 in corporation tax, benefiting his investment company which made large donations to Reform UK.

First time Reform's deputy leader's tax affairs can be directly linked to finances of Nigel Farage's party.

I always think of the Jews who tried so hard to adapt themselves, to make themselves acceptable to the Nazis. They didn't know what we know. They didn't know that it could never work. But we know. We know that fascism can't be bargained with. It can't be appeased. It can only be defeated.

To be fair, maybe he talks about this elsewhere in the tweet thread. I'm not going on bloody Twitter to look.
Anyway, he is correct to point out that AI and post-truth politics combine to make an extremely dangerous express route for vanishing up your own arse.

What the Pope says here is perfectly valid but is undoubtedly true that the very thing he warns of has happened within his, and other, churches too. Think of monks in their cells writing books about people they know nothing of and celibate priests "explaining" sex to the masses.

In other words, his only thoughts were for how this would reflect on him. Sounds like he didn't give a shit about the guy they were trying to rescue.

A large white waterfowl with orange feet stands in front of a door. On the door is a cardboard sign secured with tape that reads, "DO NOT LET THE DUCK IN."

Adding insult to injury, I think the duck might be a goose.
