Today at the Surrey Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan, I heard the phrase “Sarbat da Bhala”, wishing well for all. It really stayed with me. The idea of looking beyond ourselves and hoping for the wellbeing of everyone is a powerful part of Sikhism and something we can all carry in our lives
Happy Vaisakhi! It was great attending the Surrey Khalsa Day Vaisakhi Parade this weekend!
It is the central distribution point for almost half of the medicines, vaccines, and pharmacy supplies that get distributed throughout BC to retail and hospital pharmacies on a same day or next day basis.
I had the pleasure of touring McKesson Canada's state of the art pharmaceutical distribution centre in Surrey (Campbell Heights)!
McKesson’s pharmaceutical distribution centre in Surrey is the largest hub for delivering medications and pharmacy supplies across BC.
Surrey's communities are safer today because of the work of Surrey Police and their partners. Over four months, a BC-funded SITE operation in resulted in 136 arrests, 54 weapons seized, and 55 charges recommended — targeting the repeat offenders who cause the most harm.
This is what proactive, intelligence-led policing looks like. Our investment through the SITE program is delivering real results for Surrey residents and businesses.

Thank you to Canucks for Kids Fund for supporting CAN and the tournament. It was great seeing the Surrey Fire Fighters support the tournament by serving BBQ and playing against the All-Stars! Thank you, Minister Kang @annekangburnaby.bsky.social, for supporting the Canucks Autism Network Society.
CAN welcomed over 200 athletes representing 14 adapted hockey teams from communities across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and Interior regions. I was able to attend the 3rd tournament of this annual tournament to celebrate the opening ceremonies!

Happy Easter! For Christians, today is the holiest day on the calendar, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ. People of all walks of life are coming together with friends and family to eat good food with good company. And of course, with lots of chocolate eggs for the kids.
April is Sikh Heritage Month, a time to recognize the rich history, resilient spirit, and contributions of Sikh communities across BC.
Sikhs have been part of BC’s story for over a century. Today, BC is home to one of the largest Sikh diasporas.

As the sun sets tonight, Passover begins for Jewish communities in BC and worldwide. People will gather to celebrate with songs, prayers, readings from the Haggadah and the Seder, a ritual feast that includes symbolic foods. Wishing a meaningful Passover to all who celebrate.
Another charge has been laid in connection with extortion-related violence, following an investigation into a 2025 shooting at a Surrey business.
