Reporting on the war has been stifled by censorship, imposed by all parties to the conflict and third states.
We must have access to reliable news and information. Censorship inhibits war reporting, and internet blackouts and AI pose profound risks to civilians.
Social media has been flooded with disinformation. Tech companies must be transparent, and recognise the pivotal role they play in modern conflict. They must respect international human rights and humanitarian law.
We call for an immediate ceasefire and protection of civilians.
Unlawful intervention is not a solution. States must reaffirm their commitment to the principles of the UN Charter – the foundations of global peace and security.
