Good morning Womble! Really enjoying Ray Naylor's latest, Where The Axe Is Buried, though I feel like it's taking place 5 minutes in the future and that gives me pause, as I'm sure was the author's intent.

If you can track down her short story collection Fire Watch, the titular story takes place in that universe as well.
You wouldn’t fill a wine cellar with the empty bottles of wines you’d already enjoyed; similarly, bookshelves shouldn’t consist solely of #books you’ve already read. It’s important to have a good selection of new reads for every occasion.

Good morning Womble! Wrapping up the strange but compelling Past Master by R.A. Lafferty today. Some day I hope to eventually be able to write stuff this weird and imaginative.
Big news! ARB's first fundraiser is officially live! We're shooting for the very modest goal of $1k, with lots of stretch goals in mind. Your support is of course appreciated, and any help in spreading the word would be wonderful!
On April 12th, prepare for the Yuri's Night Bundle! Both Cosmonaut and The Lunar Wars will be 2 dollars for 2 books! Don't miss out on getting this deal!

Apparently a lot of museums are struggling in the post-COVID era; people got out of the habit of visiting. So they'd probably really appreciate your visit.
"If you were in charge of Star Trek, what would you do?"

Glad I'm not the only one to notice this awful trend. I'm honestly tired of complaining about bad covers in my YouTube videos.
Also, I was at my local indie shop today, and it was sad to see no mass market PBs (RIP), and PBs starting at around $20. I can buy 20 MMPBs for that at the used shop!

Zaza!
A hero whose heroism consists of killing people is uninteresting to me, and I detest the hormonal war orgies of our visual media, the mechanical slaughter of endless battalions of black-clad, yellow-toothed, red-eyed demons.
A grid of nine images featuring a photo of Gail and the designs she creates. Prints, a phone case, a mug, a T-shirt, a cushion and a greeting card.

Good morning Womble! Currently enjoying The State of the Art by Iain M. Banks.

This is a site without an algo, but also one that does not punish links. So what you want to do is make a strategic thread.
Always up for a starter pack 👍
Book 2 progress: Got about 2k words down today, but, more importantly, fixed some nagging plot issues. Good times!
Yes, oh my god. Character development and cadence please. Super short seasons where every second is a climax is also the literacy crisis in action. Let stories breathe. Let people think about them.
Star Trek stories are always welcome, but Sam's done so much stuff I'm sure whatever you get to will be fascinating.
@kruger.bsky.social is the best!
Not a tweet, but:
LEGO 75388 - Jedi Bob's Starfighter figure assortment: Jedi Bok, Ackbar Trooper and Servo (SR-V0)
Glad to see Jedi Bob lives on, but WTF is an Ackbar Trooper? I am clearly out of touch with the LEGO of today.
Fun fact about this interview—very talented photographer Lacey Browne sat in front of my house in her car for like a half hour cuz I have bad adhd and didn’t read her texts thoroughly. I’m sorry. Also this is a nice interview.
I'm about to start a newsletter, since I've had too many authors say you HAVE to do it that I figured I'd give it a shot. Since I'm in between books, it's mainly going to be promoting my YouTube book reports for now, maybe add a short story giveaway to subscribers, if I can scrounge one up.
You're absolutely right. Jurassic Park had good CGI back in 1993, most of it still holds up. But the CGI these days is frequently quite bad; it's much less a skill issue than it is a failure at the management level (planning, scheduling, budgeting, etc.)
