I interviewed the brilliant @stuhennigan.bsky.social about his debut #keshed @ortacpress.bsky.social. We chatted about his process, the complexities of writing class & addiction, blistering sentences, T.Harrison, Dylan Thomas, Pat Barker, punk poets & more. All thanks @minorliteratures.bsky.social.

Thanks.
Good stuff. Will definitely need to speak to you about him when you're less busy.
Nice mention for Steven Wells in your interview with Susanna Crossman.
Yeah i didn't know anything about it. Only did it for a short while i think but i've found four of the columns.
does anyone remember anything about this programme from 1994. I have no recollection of it at all.
@quantick.bsky.social Did you know about this column David? We only found out about it recently. Found a few clippings
been trying to find these for ages
Tomorrow- Sunday! ☀️
Birmingham - so many music memories. Music college, Dexys, Too-Rye-Ay, Don’t Stand Me Down, The Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony - to name just a few.
I’ll be chatting with Pete Paphides about some of these. Hope to see you there x

Because i used to read Jerry as Everett (i was a bit to young for his NME stint) was a bit nervous about speaking to him. Great bloke.
yep. top guys. you should do something on Neil.
When i spoke to Jerry (Everett True) yesterday he said the 3 people that are missed as music or culture writers (for their legacy and the brilliant stuff they'd probably write now) are Swells, Dele Fadele and Neil Kulkani. He said they might have been brutal in their writing but they really cared.
2/2..and i'll burn all remaining pages on a big f*ck off fire.
1/2 I hope he doesn't (obviously) but wouldn't it be funny if Mark Lewisohn decided 'i'm bored with writing about just this one group. I'll scrap the next book...
These early Z-Cars episodes are fantastic. You can also see the actors improvising and trying to make each other corpse when they fluff their lines.
RIP Andy Kershaw. Here he is talking to his mate Peel (alongside 'Susan') at the end of this clip.youtube.com/watch
Sorry to hear that my old sparring partner Andy Kershaw has passed away. His eclectic taste in music and enthusiastic promotion of the artists he loved made him a brilliant broadcaster
And here are Buzzcocks performing the other side of that great single - Noise Annoys - on Revolver in 1978
Remembering Pete Shelley on his birthday. Here are Buzzcocks performing Love You More at Manchester's Free Trade Hall in 1978
Hugh from the Armando Iannucci Show
“Of course in the old days Bluesky was only on for three hours a day. We used to get dressed up in our Sunday best to log on to it. Then when it shut down again we’d all stand up and sing the national anthem”
Just finished speaking to 'Everett True' for the book. I was a bit nervous about it forsome reason but what a nice guy.
Thinking of starting a substack or blog.
Yeah very good. Missed it when it was first on and this is first time seen it. Another Flip for Dominick is on youtube so might watch that as well
Never seen The Flip side of .. until now. Peter Firth (Bradford!) Is very good.
Happy birthday to Dave Edmunds
Talking Pictures is great. They've got the Rod Serling play Patterns, Flip side of Dominick Hyde and old Z-Cars eps streaming on their Encore platform at the moment.
30 YEARS AGO TODAY: two, potentially three, entities that you can never really imagine having interacted interact as Davina McCall talks to Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo on MTV Europe's live afternoon show Hanging Out.
ICYMI: Last week’s interview with Irmin Schmidt (which was a real pleasure to write and record)…
