A Chinese EV will be about 1 of 6 autos made worldwide during 2025.

China's EV total will exceed 13 million in 2025. It could reach 14 million or even get close to 15 million.

When will China make 20 million EVs per year?

Soon, for sure. Possibly 2026!

Truly incredible!

A reminder that if the minimum wage had kept pace with worker productivity gains since the 1960s, it would now be nearly $26 an hour.

How Solar Is Saving Newborns' Lives in Sierra Leone — Episode 204: Project Bo YouTube video by Cleaning Up Podcast

Help! ❤️

YouTube flagged our @cleaninguppod.bsky.social documentary on #ProjectBo as political advertising. 😬

Using #solar power to help save babies' lives is NOT political! 🌞

We've re-edited, now we REALLY need your likes, comments, RTs and shares to get the word out! 🙏

Realistic roles for hydrogen in the future energy transition - Nature Reviews Clean Technology Hydrogen has been proposed as a fuel for widespread use since the 1970s, but uptake has repeatedly fallen below projections, primarily due to high costs. This Perspective considers hydrogen’s potentia...

For decades, forecasts of a clean hydrogen economy have relied on rapid scale-up driving down costs. However, production costs are dominated by engineering and energy, and supplemented by transport, storage & usage costs which seem unlikely to exhibit rapid reductions.

Thawing Tundra Is Now a Carbon Source in Fast-Warming Arctic Scientists’ annual report card on the polar region finds that its vast tundra is releasing more CO2 than it stores, a worrying shift.

As the Arctic warms faster than the rest of the world, its tundra has become a source rather than a sink of carbon, a change that worries scientists

chart of health spending versus life expectancy in rich countries. every one shows a positive relationship but the US, which spends about twice as much as peer nations but is 3-7 years behind

in basically every country more health care spending means a longer average life expectancy. not the US though, we don't hold with that nonsense www.ft.com/content/a757...

Australian homes could slash energy bills by two thirds by cutting out gas and petrol, AEMC says Australian households could lower their bills by over two thirds if they fully electrify their home by cutting out gas and petrol according to a new report from AEMC.

Australian households could cut their bills by two thirds by going fully electric according to new modelling but claims widespread electrification will lower power prices across the board are a little rosy.

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

Renewables need less energy:

Electricity generation ~2x less (by not throwing heat in coal and gas away).

Heating ~3x less (by using heatpumps that make 3 kWh heat from 1 kwh electricity)

Cars ~4× less (combustion engines waste ~80% of energy)

I think that’s usually the case. Ignorance is not only bliss, it provides confidence to be loud about it.

If our hot water heaters ran off daytime solar, we would slash emissions and soak up cheap energy Your electric water heater uses a lot of electricity overnight. Shifting it to soak up solar could be a win-win.

New piece from colleagues at @ceemunsw.bsky.social - highlighting recent research on a great option to shift load, and make use of cheap energy, and reduce emissions 🔌💡
