Good news for the New Year... I will reveal all in due course
It was the closest anyone could get to a recording of her voice (before the era of audio recordings). I am honoured to reintroduce the world of music to her vocal stylings, whilst also offering modern day singers examples of appropriate vocal ornamentation from the early nineteenth century. 3/3
Elizabeth Billington (1765-1818) was the foremost opera singer in the Georgian Britain, achieving international recognition for her singing. The Songs Sung by Mrs Billington (1801) was captured her impressive musicianship and vocal ability by notating her stylistic ornaments. 2/
Now that the contract is signed, I am delighted to say that I will soon publish a new edition of The Songs Sung by Mrs Billington with A-R Editions. 1/
