Captive bred doesn't really mean much, their wild instincts and needs are still in full force. This becomes apparent around age 3-ish in many parrot species. This is also when they're often relinquished.
It's like getting a pet monkey or tiger.

I used to hype the special needs birds more, I should go back to that. They’re my fav BBs because when they thrive, it’s magical.

I feel more comfy being surrounded by women, feminist males, and queer folk at the coven more so than I do at church.
There were some churches I did enjoy. Ones that taught empathy, compassion, and humility.
It’s sad that a place meant to heal and guide ppl too often harms and manipulates them. 🥺

I think ppl are too shy to share it, thinking ppl will judge. I specialize in the special guys and worked with a vet. I saw lots of cones and plucky BBs. Especially cockatoos.

It’s a chronic thing. 😭 Gave him meds to help with anxiety, didn’t work. They helped Lolo for a bit, but she got really drowsy and it got me nervous. He’s happy and spoiled otherwise.

Lolo, another absolutely sweet (likely male) lovebird suffered from a similar habit.
Parrots are not domesticated animals. They are often one or two generations from the wild.
Many of their parents were literally Rio’d (see the animated movie).

He’s the sweetest lovebird. Unfortunately he has to wear the cone of shame bc he will pluck and pick at himself to the point of bleeding. This is a common psychological side effect of forcing wild parrots into captivity.

100% this. Stop telling creators what or how to create. Critiques can be ok if you come from a place of experience and genuinely good intentions.
If you don’t like it, go make something better or just move on.
