Really, I would rather give the storefront cut to my LFGS than one of these crowdfunding corporations. Or the creator directly for that matter.
Ok, but how do we fix that?
The creators are pressured to do the crowdfunding dance, I get it and I don't blame them for that. But I'm getting more and more disgusted by this whole cult of the market with endless stretch goals, exclusive content and special limited time events. Can we just not?
My current phone has an easily removable battery (like I can swap it without tools) and I just bought a spare one to carry around in my backpack. And that is just such a convenience. As long as I remember to charge the second battery I can basically "revive" my phone on the go.
That defence of theirs is absurd.
I won't believe that it's anything else that whoever is behind the licencing agreement is worried about piracy to the point of making this unusable to the people that were unfortunate enough to buy it without checking the term and conditions.
I don't know, I'll take a DRM free PDF over anything hosted on an app that might not work on the ebook reader I have(or might disappear in two years because the company went bankrupt or something). Epub would be better, yes. But I get why it's not used much in a layout heavy publication as a TTRPG.
Four years ago I woke up at 5 am from distant explosions. I asked my boyfriend if he heard them too, he said he didnโt and I should go back to sleep. I tried to calm myself down, went on the internet, it was silent, no news or explanations.

Don't know why, but it looks very satisfying.
You know like: "Will I lose my purity score if I use this lipstick we have found on a witch?"
Oh you totally will, but that's like 2 KAS (Knightcore Aesthetic Score) points, making you more fabulous than Sir Andrew over there so it's totally worth it.
The best part of Knightcore for me is how it subtly makes players compete in how fabulous their characters look while dealing with challenges GM throws their way and arguing about the moral implications of their actions.
