Back in my former life as a #lecturer I delivered this #paintingworkshop to 1st year students countless times. It is only now that I reflect upon it and employ it myself. This #wip will eventually span 16 canvases and be an enlarged version of an A4 source in 2 duotone combinations

1st rule of #facism is to get everyone to forget what they already know, like pronouncing words IE, #Elon pronounced eh-luhn and not eee-lon or #Farage pronounced Fa-ridge not Fah-rah-zhe. Don't give them things they don't own...your knowledge

What do I want to paint? I never thought I would have to ask this fundamental question of myself in my 50's but since I started this reflective project a couple of months ago it has popped up a few times. I'm listening to my #subconscious and exploring #drives and #needs

This #painting is a little similar to a piece by #dekooning I gladly admit. So, as well as an abstract painting inspired by studio mess, I also seem to #ape famous #art now and again too... A pattern is forming it seems in this examination of practice...more soon

Every 4th or 5th #painting I make has to be composed based on an #accident spotted somewhere in the #studio. Some #juxtaposition of #paintdaubs. Sometimes it works out. I'm always looking for an #art that feels credible or #resonates somehow

One way my #neurodivergence manifests is via obsession/repetition. My #painting practice allows repetitions of the same #image but in different application techniques. I've learnt to embrace this act...

A painting of a small cute puppy and even smaller kitten. Painting in a soft focus style. The two characters look as though they may be shaking hands together. It seems that they might be standing on a reflective surface as their reflection stretches out Infront and below them. The Painting style changes in the reflection to make the characters look more abstract and less detailed...more gestural.
