After careful consideration and conversations with supporters, campaign staff, and community leaders, I’ve decided to suspend my campaign for Congress.

(2/4) My heart is with the victims, their loved ones, the Jewish community in Sydney and across Australia, and the Jewish community here at home as they grieve and heal.

(1/4) What should have been a night of faith and celebration for Jewish families in Australia was shattered by a targeted act of violence meant to terrorize an entire community.

Holding the Brown community in my thoughts today. Violence like this leaves lasting scars far beyond the immediate victims, and my heart is with everyone affected. No campus or community should have to experience this.

More than 32,000 veterans are unhoused. 1.2 million veterans rely on SNAP benefits. And nearly 25% of active duty service members and their families face food insecurity.

This Veterans Day, we must commit to building a country where our veterans are truly supported.

Today marks the beginning of 42 million Americans losing their critical SNAP benefits. I know exactly how important these benefits are, I relied on them growing up and it made my story possible. When I’m in Congress, I will make sure to defend and fully fund these live saving programs like SNAP.

Despite the necessity of SNAP benefits, Cory Mills and extremists in Congress are playing politics with our families and our country. They’re holding critical benefits, paychecks, and our government hostage in order to gut our healthcare and further their partisan agenda.

I know from experience that SNAP is not only about food: it lifts households out of poverty. The SNAP program has helped nearly 6.6 million people stay above the poverty line, including some 3 million children, like myself.
