Short Radar animation from Guam Radar of Category 5 Typhoon #Sinlaku. Multiple distinct spiral bands (Vortex Rossby Waves) are in place. The core is stronger than shown here, attenuation of the radar signal is the reason due to heavy rain in the spiral bands.
#Sinlaku is one hell of a storm right now. No real indication of an EWRC however. The Northern Marian Islands are in for a very rough passage on Tuesday/Wednesday. The core is really steady, pressure down now below 900 hPa and axissymetric.
A classic compact system it is, no EWRC in sight right now.

Mächtiges Tief über dem Atlantik. Bild ist von gestern, die UKMO-Analyse interpolierte zum Zeitpunkt rund 960 hPa Kerndruck, sehr beeindruckend für diese Zeit im Jahr. Über Südskandinavien ist noch das Tief #Dave (#Rapunzel) zu sehen.
Wow, look at these observations of Tropical Cyclone #NARELLE, gusts nearing 200 km/h at Learmonth in northern WA. Source is obviously BOM.
Cyclone #NARELLE has cleared the eye and very deep convection is wrapping round the eye. This storm is nearing CAT 5 of the Saffir-Simpson-Scale, in my opinion. Maybe an ERC will start, the SE-Qudrant is showing a bit of weakening. However this is a monster storm.

Schöner Wolkenkringel über Belgien gerade #ELLI. Die Okklusion wickelt sich dabei mehrfach um den Tiefkern. Von der Nordsee bis nach Wien häufig mäßiger #Schneefall, an der Ostsee Ost-#Sturm. Auch im Südwesten von Deutschland ist es stürmisch, ein synoptischer Leckerbissen.
Je pense ce que les rafales sont une justification d'existence d'un StingJet avec #Goretti. Dans les autres stations, il y a aussi des rafales extrêmes.
Wow, wenn die Messungen stimmen, dann haben wir dort einen #StingJet live in Action mit Sturm #ELLI (#GORETTI). Das ist extrem selten, dass solche Werte gemessen werden, ähnlich Böen wurden bei Orkan Christian gemessen, auch eine SKZ.

Massive low over the northern Atlantic right now. Name: #IKARUS The central pressure nears 930 hPa right now. A classic Norwegian model cyclone with a beautiful occluding front.
A strong low is currently impacting the British Isles. #StormBram is a Shapiro-Keyser-Cyclone with a front fracture immanent on Satellite imagery. A #StingJet might develop later as well. Note the subtropical airmass which is ingested into the system.
Ouch, that is a drastic change in intensity of Hurricane #Melissa after crossing Jamaica. Form a historic CAT 5 storm to a roughly CAT 3 storm in a few hours. Source: tropicaltidbits.com/recon/

Insane Readings from the Hurricane Hunters from Hurricane #Melissa right now. This is a compact storm, note the extrapolated surface pressure gradients. The eye has a temperature of nearly 23°C. That is quiet something. CAT 5 status is likely very near.
Wow, Hurricane #Melissa nears stadium effect. Please not that the Cloud Top Temps are really cold for an Atlantic Bassin Storm with wide areas below -80°C. This system is approaching Category 5 intensity right now, imho.
Etwas überraschend hat der Wetterdienst in Grad Forks, North Dakota einen #Tornado, der am 20.6.2025 auftrat auf die höchste Kategorie 5 hochgestuft. Seit nun mehr 12 Jahren hatte es keinen EF-5 mehr gegeben!
