Posts by Marcus Herbertsson - Making Game Trailers
3 trailers, 8 languages, and around 500 renders later, the DLC for Snufkin is finally out! As with the base game, it was a huge challenge to handle all the languages in a way that wouldn't make me pull my hair out. But it's always a joy to work with characters of my childhood and Hyper Games!
We're happy to say that a free update on November 27th will introduce a number of new languages including Northern Sámi, South Korean and Traditional Chinese, allowing even more people to enjoy the wonderful story and characters of Moominvalley (o˘◡˘o)💖

Playing a game of "WILL IT RENDER?!" with after effects and dynamic link. Always exciting stuff
I really want to find a way to automate the process haha
Yes! youtu.be/6vM01n1xG8A it's incredibly cozy
Is there an easier way to do it? Especially, adding in the translations manually was pretty tedious.
After effects. After that, I rendered out a base version of each language to be used in a versioning project in Premiere. That way you could switch out the base file and endslate and then automatically update each version with a new language. My question is, how have you solved similar situations?
One of my biggest challenges in making the Snufkin video campaign was releasing the trailers in 8 different languages, with versioning for all. My solution to that was to switch out all in game text for after effects dynamic links, then I made a script that switched between different languages in /1
