This is exactly why Trump started this term by only appointing MAGA reality TV types, and fired as many career civil servants as he could (largely via DOGE). Also, that was explicitly written into Project 2025.

People often double down in these situations, because it’s too hard to acknowledge they did the wrong thing. They try more woo treatments. It’s a lot like supporting Trump despite the increasing evidence it was a bad idea from the start.

The source who 1st publicly exposed Swalwell’s abuses is as trustworthy as it gets. She’s a solid education expert, years of posts about human rights, edu & politics. She stumbled upon this, talked to victims, and felt morally compelled to do something about it

This is who I believe. I’ve been following her for years. Her expertise is education, but in getting into politics she came across Swalwell victims, and after hearing many accounts felt she had to do something. She broke the story of his abuses because she HAD to.

There are descriptions from the officer, over several interviews of the girl, of her pulling her knees up on the chair, drawing doodles, & the officer high-fiving her to keep her calm as she speaks of horror.
One issue is ICE is all about violently arresting random people who MIGHT be undocumented. A lot of immigration enforcement can be done via courts and administrative paperwork, and doesn’t require physical takedowns.
