Talk yourself into preordering this book. It's not out for a month, which means future-you will have just enough time to forget why you preordered it and just receive it as a shocking and marvelous gift from past-you.

You will not be normal about this book. But then we can talk about it together.

one thing i love about cities is I can be a little bit hungry, and all I have to do is pop into a nearby store (or food truck) and get like $6 worth of food to eat while walking down the sidewalk

this message brought to you by Pão com linguiça. Perfect food for sidewalk eating.

There was a point in A Game in Yellow where everything was great and the narration told me to stop reading, so I did.

One thing I really like about MARATHON is that being a huge coward is a viable strategy.

And here is what I was making: a silverware organizer!

it came together very nicely, with no misaligned dados, or unsightly gaps. a fun small build, and a significant improvement over the old silverware organizer we had.

a curvy black trans woman in an excessive purple jumpsuit is about to kiss an extremely good looking and badly dressed asian trans guy. He is wearing a Hawaiian shirt god bless him. They are flying in the clouds? Behind them rear their superhero forms - she is a purple moth witch and he is a green hi-tec space pilot flyboy and they both wear masks. Style is reminiscent of I Was A Teenage Exocolonist because the artist did that too. Synthwave turquoise and purple background. Text says "the genre-exploding, galaxy-spanning, quick-quipping, meta-fictional, retro-nostalgia futuristic thrill ride of a lifetime: Plastic Prism Void by Violet Allen Out May 19th"

I edited EMBODIED EXEGESIS, an anthology of cyberpunk stories written by transfem authors!

This anthology is so full of weird cyberpunk and posthuman stories/poems, pushing at the edges of what defines cyberpunk (and making it trans)

The miter box has been very useful for cutting the sides of the dados.

It's much faster than setting up battens/saw-guides, and I was surprised at how well doing stopped dados worked with the backsaw.

And even though it's small, with appropriate support, it can handle cutting huge boards.

It's SO much nicer (quieter, safer, more accurate) than using a powered miter saw.

A stanley no150 miter box, with the saw guide set to the 45 degree angle.

After years of searching, I've finally found an intact & working miter box.

This is a stanley no150, which has a saw guide instead of integrated miter saw. It works with just about any saw w/ a deep enough plate. Which is great because there are less parts to break or get lost.
