Someone was abducted at 10 AM by ICE on Central Ave. Their coworker says they’ve lived here for over 20 years, are documented, and have 3 kids who were born here.
Don’t be fooled by headlines when they’ve been lying to us the whole time. We still need you out patrolling until every agent is gone.

Dear neighbor, I am proud of you and our immigrant residents. Your resiliency, strength, and dedication have led to the announcement that “Operation Metro Surge” will end soon. It’s clear that the commitment of our neighbors made it untenable for ICE and federal agents to continue to operate its occupation of our city and state. This isn’t as a result of capitulation from elected leaders. This victory is yours, but we must not stop until ICE is completely abolished, and no more families are ever separated again. I will forever be thankful to those who patrolled, observed, and supported our community with mutual aid and daily tasks during these horrific times. Our community is full of heroes who will always be remembered as caring and loving. There are no words to show how thankful I am of every single one of you who showed up day in and day out. I hope you’ll join me in continuing to carry the whistle of resistance as our work is not done. I am still asking the community to remain cautious and vigilant until we can confirm what this truly means. They said they are not backing down from mass deportation but will be ending the operation in Minnesota soon. I recommend you continue your current plan until we can give you more information. We still need observers and the community to be on the lookout. These “draw-downs” are expected to continue through next week, which means we will still need help now and in the future. Additionally, we must never forget what they did to our neighbors and loved ones. They murdered Renee Good and Alex Pretti, shot Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis in the leg, and kidnapped Victor Manuel Diaz, who then died under ICE custody. We are still mourning, demanding justice, and we will never forget. They targeted our immigrant neighbors and children, discriminated against our community based on skin color and accents, lobbed weapons of war on our parks, and completely shattered families who simply wanted to work, take their kids to schools, and

on eat street today, pho 79 was giving out no-cost community meals; luna and the bear had free coffee for folks; cheapo had a sign up encouraging folks visiting alex pretti's memorial site to come in, warm up, and use the bathroom. good city full of good people imo.
One thing I hope people take the time to acknowledge: The sea change in public opinion has been achieved because violence, though encourage by a lot of people here online, was never once employed by the movement. Violence was solely the purview of the state and that is why the state is losing.
They are never, ever going to win in Minnesota.
"What’s that? I couldn’t hear you over the quiet of all the whistles."

ICE just indiscriminately stopped a citizen at a bus stop in front of the co-op. If this is how they treat the President of the Minneapolis City Council who is legally observing, just think of what they’re doing to everyone else in our City.

“web scale” but its calcification not capacity
I double checked with my northern Washington county fam and the consensus is that Brickhouse is worth going one extra exit north on 35 if that’s any indication, haha. Hope you and your family are having a nice holiday!
A hop north from Maplewood, but if WBL is not too far, there’s always Brickhouse which is great! I go there with family somewhat often. maps.app.goo.gl/9Sc1976Mised...

Ah crap 😭 makes sense
Yep, you might be right and I might have gotten my wires crossed 😭
related/unrelated: I recently learned about hamwan.org and other approaches to running mesh networks with e.g. UBNT carrier-grade gear in the 5GHz band and I am like 👀 👀 👀

Definitely appreciate the link, thanks!
Thanks! This totally matches what I’ve been seeing. I noticed that if I go to PIP before putting the phone to sleep, I get my desired behavior (background playback and Lock Screen/CC controls), which just happens to be this dev’s _un-desirable_ behavior 🤔
I asked in the expo discord but I’m getting crickets 🦗, so if this rings a bell for anyone I would be eternally grateful. This bug has been pestering me for months now.
(I tried with expo-video, the newfangled option in SDK52, but it suffers from the same issues)
I’m encountering an issue where I play a video using expo-av, and then I hit the power button:
- if the video is full screened (w/ presentFullScreeenPlayer), the video will stop ❌ , but show controls on the Lock Screen ✅
- otherwise, it will keep playing ✅ but show no controls ❌
this is a wild one, but if any of you iOS devs/expo devs/React Native folks out there have encountered this, it would be a big help:
yeah, me and a collaborator often are asked to make dashboards and the first question is “what result would you like to get from seeing this data?” to which the answer is usually 🤷
This pumpkin spice popcorn? Really good. First bite is super off putting but the second bite is incredible.
