Oh, yeah, that was the Obama Iran deal.

To be clear, these are what the presidential budget request is *trying* to terminate.... They tried this last year, and we fought and won.
When we fight, we win.
I caught these exact stats and it was β¨ shinyβ¨, but it's 3 levels too high for great league π
But I think it's VERY possible to leave open plot points for later resolution and still provide an enjoyable story the entire time. Though to your original point, some people do not understand delayed gratification and seem incapable of enjoying the interim when something is unresolved.
All of that to say that unfortunately is that due to too much inauthentic storytelling (mostly from television, but books as well) that they maybe have a chapter/episode or two of good faith wherein if it isn't still entertaining I'm not going to wait around for the resolution.
If the author is trying to set up other aspects of the story to be able to bring everything together later they either need to be direct, eloquent, or entertaining (or any combination of the above). Every page is part of the meal and I can only eat so much celery before I'm both full and unsatisfied
Every part of the story needs to be intentional. I'm Anime there is a common trope of a "beach episode" and in many series it's one of the most popular episodes, not because it necessarily resolved any plot points, but because it is so enjoyable.
For me it is if they can keep my attention in the interim. If I have to struggle to pick up the book or watch the next episode then what is it for? If the author is leaving the unresolved carrot dangling to keep our interests then where are they going that's so important to leave it behind?
Many of my favorite stories are so engrossing that I completely forget about the unresolved points until they are brought back up later on.
I agree, I also feel that you can often tell just a few pages in by the confidence with which they go into the next part of the story. The intentionality of the language. If it meanders immediately and doesn't have a purpose I lose confidence that the author knows where they are going with the story
Perhaps it's what's going on in between that makes it good or bad writing. Using an unresolved plot point to make a viewer sit through an extra season of a show because you don't know what you're going to do once that singular plot point is resolved, is not good writing.
The Challenger π
(The safe flight & return of Artemis II & crew is healing that tho)
A T-Rex using T-Rex headed grabby thingies that help you reach farther with the text "i am unstoppable"
Right?! Imagine using the one with the T-Rex head, it'd definitely have an enjoyable level of irony to it.
I still have a foot of snow in my front yard π it's been incredible to have sunny days above freezing 3 out of the last 5 days, but it's supposed to snow again next week π«
Lately outdoor spaces and/or friends have given me so much energy to do activities that I otherwise feel like I don't have time or energy for.

My wife keeps a pair of dollar store kitchen tongs in her car so she can reach the ticket.
More music, less podcasts.
Is it weird that I read the book title correctly before I even consciously noticed it was out of order π
No one does toxic optimism quite like silicon valley.
Dang dude! I've been chronically offline lately, sorry I missed this. Let me know if there is a way to get pre-ordered outside of the Kickstarter, like through backerkit or directly through you or anything.
π Same! I begged my mom to drive me to Sam Goody so I could buy it with some recent birthday money.
Like, I can zoom in, and change contrast, but I can't get a better angle on the lighting or see the profile of the surface roughness. Like... The more scientific knowledge I gain, the more I feel like I forget basic human functionality.
When inspecting tested hardware I'm so used to handling actual materials in a lab that when people send my images from trading at other sites sometimes I find myself moving my head for a different perspective and squinting trying to see something before remembering that I'm staring at a screen π€£π€£
I honestly find it a little hard to believe that that is the most embarrassing text you've ever sent... I'm sure you've done stupider things. I believe in you.
Ya, day jobs are like that unfortunately. Your stickers have come to work with me every day for like... idk however many years since I bought them... three? Time flies
Seen the starters for Gen 10 because I desperately need stickers for both. In any case, hope you're doing well, and if you're still making/selling stickers let me give you money!
@danibirdart.bsky.social dude, do you still sell stickers? I looked at a variety of your socials and couldn't find a link to your site. Not sure if you're doing that anymore π€· if you are I'd love to order another set of the Paldean starters and didn't know if you'd been playing Pokopia or 1/2
I guess with streets that clear @casey.nyc won't be able to make another snowboarding video.
