Trump said: “a lot of people are saying ‘maybe we’d like a dictator", claims he isn’t one.
Since the election he has probably made more laws than Congress; thinks he is King, will rule forever
Sent soldiers into US cities, wants to annexe other countries.
A dictator did that in the 1930s.
UK electricity/gas infrastructure companies have spent £490m a year less than budgeted on maintaining system reliability and preventing failures.
Gas privatised in 1986, electricity in 1990. Assets sweated.

Whilst this complicit, complacent government & ‘regulator’ do nothing but side with the sinner against the sinned against. What a complete sellout Starmer & his government are.
Another betrayal of voters, ‘working people’, the struggling, the non corporates & pretty much the 99% by our LINO government.
Since #Brexit, UK now has lower standards in politics and politicians (apologies to the exceptions to this seemingly ever apparent rule).
Of course if they challenged & capped the charges extorted by/profiteering by utilities companies esp Gas & Water, rail & air operators & reversed employers NI hike life would become generally a lot more affordable for SME businesses & normal people, we might get some economic activity across the UK
If there’s a good, sensible, public spirited, cost-effective & kind way. And there’s its opposite, what way do you think they’ll choose 🤔?
Now we need the same response to oil, gas & plastics industries to save our planet from the ever worsening climate catastrophe & plastic pervasiveness.
Contrast two #Scotland wind projects: Beinn an Tuirc, owned by Scottish Power Renewables, returns about £2,500 per megawatt to the community whilst Tilley, a single turbine owned by the Tiree Community Development Trust, returns over £263,000 per megawatt.

If only European & UK leaders would rally to the planet & all of us affected by climate devastation in the way that they rally against Putin.
Climate models since the 1970s nailed it—most predicted global warming almost exactly as it happened.
It’s a complex mix e.g. big business/ private equity interests, toothless, inadequate or complicit regulators, escalating property, rent, fuel, utility, food & produce bills, rates & employers NI, infrastructure issues. Poor government. End result: affordability crisis for pubs & punters alike.

Successive UK govts have expected the City of London to revive the economy. This faith is misplaced.
In 2024, £25.3bn new shares issued on the London Stock Exchange
£92.1bn paid in dividends
£57.1bn paid in share buybacks.
Companies sweat assets, leads to low productivity.
Yet no govt reforms.

I’m not sure @greenparty.org.uk or indeed normal people looking at the global climate picture juxtapositioned with Rachel Reeves and Steve Reeds announcements to date will be convinced this Govt IS doing all it can to protect our environment, build in resilience or mitigate harm.
But let’s all rush to invest in water greedy AI datacenters!
