Trump gave Musk & DOGE bros unlimited power. Now we’re all paying the price. From #SocialSecurity data, to lives lost and #climate inaction, the damage is real. Demand Congress 🔍 #InvestigateDOGE

Americans have spent an estimated $20.5 billion more on gas and diesel since Trump attacked Iran ...

Today we visited the US Treasury to see if normal taxpayers qualify for any of the fossil fuel industry's $37 billion in tax breaks this year!

🚨🚨 Today, we’re launching “Stop Greed Build Green,” a strategic framework and agenda to confront the affordability crisis and the climate crisis together by putting working people in charge of the economy and the climate transition. (1/10)
🌐 NEW | Analysis: Global fossil power generation fell in March after Hormuz closure due to solar & wind growth
⚠️ Fall in gas-fired generation offset by large increases in solar & wind power, not coal

"There is no justification for a regressive system in which the super-rich contribute less than the rest of us," write @josephestiglitz.bsky.social, @gabrielzucman.bsky.social, and @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social.
Fossil fuel energy systems are highly concentrated and centralized. Everything flows from a relatively small number of massive nodes that then must move large distances via tanker, pipeline, & truck to reach their ultimate consumer, creating hard targets all long the way.

"In power, solar plus storage now costs below $60 per megawatt hour (MWh) at a global level. The variable cost of LNG-fired power in Asia, at $20 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), exceeds $160 per MWh – nearly three times the cost of never needing fuel again."
Any questions?
That’s the thing about competitive authoritarianism: The “authoritarianism” is serious – but so is the “competitive” part. Politics hasn’t ended in such regimes. The rules have been changed significantly, giving a massive advantage to the ruling regime; but the political conflict is not over.
A 13% spike in energy bills over the last year is a warning sign. The #EnergyBillsReliefAct, introduced in Congress, will cut pollution and energy bills. Help me and @climatehawksvote.com tell congress that clean energy is affordable energy here: actionnetwork.org/letters/tell...
NEW—I got an exclusive excerpt from a USAID whistleblower's new book that made me gasp multiple times. It details Trump's dismantling of the humanitarian aid agency & his team/DOGE's shocking ignorance to public health.
'Into the Wood Chipper' by Nicholas Enrich is out tomorrow. Read excerpt here:

Europeans want more renewables, even if it increases energy bills Public enthusiasm for clean energy comes as the Iran war exposes Europe’s vulnerability to global oil and gas markets.
vulnerability to fluctuating global energy markets, and will help Brussels in its drive to replace imported fossil fuels with homegrown renewables. The survey of more than 6,000 people in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Poland in March found that around 60 percent want Europe to either speed up or maintain its transition to renewables. The single biggest block of respondents — 39 percent — supported accelerating the transition even if energy prices rise in the short term. Just 17 percent said the EU should prioritize the cheapest energy sources regardless of environmental impact.
One day, in the distant future, we will see a poll that actually reflects what happens when renewables are built (power bills go down). *EVERY* poll currently adopts a brazen lie in question framing, for shamelessly ideological reasons.
Stung by Iran war, countries are turning against U.S. fossil fuels - The Washington Post www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
Black America is well aware of this but it's a broader pattern as well. The right funds institutions long-term focused on agenda setting, while the center-left delights in funding reactively to whatever's hot. So even when a movement forces something onto the agenda its shelflife is short.
Who's profiting from ridiculous and unnecessary wars? Big Oil CEOs, to name one obvious group. @emorwee.bsky.social

16 GW of power deals announced by 5 hyperscalers in 2026
More evidence that Big Tech is locking us into a new generation of fossil fuel infrastructure and destabilizing our climate: the 5 largest hyperscalers have announced 16GW of power deals this year, and only 3GW have been for clean power.

Thank god. Christ.
But seriously folks. We cannot continue to live like this.
How do I work through this unprecedented time I mutter to myself for the 20th time this year.
In Korea, when the president declared martial law after midnight and erected barricades in Seoul, congressional reps from all parties ran into the streets, yanked ak47s from the army at the barricades, broke down the locked door to Congress, repealed the martial law order, and arrested the president
today sure feels like one of the all time ‘so i still just gotta go and do my little job during all this?!’ moments
In all seriousness, one thing that might be worth doing today:
Tell your Reps and Senators to call Adm. Richard Correll, the Commander of U.S. Strategic Command, which controls the nation's nukes, and remind him of *his* unique responsibility to refuse an illegal order.
A lobbying group for “one of the world’s largest oil and gas corporations, with headquarters in Irving, Texas,” was a client of a massive hacking-for-hire scheme that targeted climate advocates, according to a grand jury indictment.
One suspect's lawyers "identified...the company as Exxon Mobil."
I wish science could explain what’s happening.
Utah just "made it nearly impossible for residents to hold fossil fuel companies legally accountable for climate damages."
Four other red states are now considering similar laws.
This is part of a push from Big Oil and its political allies to secure federal legal immunity—and it must be stopped.
If you want to know why base Dems are absolutely livid with their own party (but will still walk over hot coals to vote against Republicans anyway) it's that the President is gloating about his commitment to war crimes, piracy and brigandage and Kaine is up on CNN saying "please post better"
