Watching Cats (2019) w/accompanying RiffTrax and am befuddled every single second by the perspective. The Jellicles are too big and too small at same time
Ok, the Pitt, but that’s not what “kinship fostering” is
Never underestimate linen
Our nearly two-year-old cat has yet to learn that she cannot reach the birds outside our front window by throwing herself at it multiple times per day

Glad to hear the youth are keeping it alive!
You know what you don’t hear about anymore? The Bermuda Triangle
More than 2 million low-income Americans, overwhelmingly women, access birth control and STD screening through Title X programs.
They called my aunt Joan to confirm that she's a "questionable driver"
I was talking to my aunt about her trip to Sicily and also how my redbud tree is blooming and she goes: “you know what I heard about redbuds from our tour guide in Agrigento? Judas hung himself from one”

It's especially galling because he's also a novelist!
Scrutiny aside, as a critic why would you do this??? What is the point of being a writer if you don't want to write???

When we were in Ireland in the fall, we went to a sheepdog demonstration. I’m still following the place and they have lamb babies now, truly toying with my heart mind and soul
OK I have seen two different deals this week for books in which teen adoptee or foster kid girls develop selective mutism. Simply, what thee fuck
Thrilled to write about @waynekoestenbaum.bsky.social and his new novel, an immersion in gay sex, erotic yearning and religious self-knowledge unlike any I've ever read. Glad @nymag.com and @vulture.com let me wax rhapsodic on this one.

Wow love an old episode of SVU that features a rainbow party x measles outbreak plot
He must have been BATHING in it! (Mine was also from lime juice. The derm asked me if I had been doing tequila shots outside!)
It’s been weeks and I’m still thinking about that absurd case of phytophotodermatitis on the Pitt. I got it once on my hands when I was in my early twenties and it was like, tiny spots of discoloration. (The derm I saw was at a teaching hospital and he called in residents and students to see it!)
We don’t need a time travel machine. Just take a day and hit up some random grocery stores in your state. Found an Acme that had an aisle labeled “Snapple”
Been thinking a lot lately how I got a Snapple every day in junior high
Finally ripped off the bandaid and started a Scrivener binder for my next book proposal 🫠
She ran A Practical Wedding. I used her book in planning my wedding and then watched her go off the deep end 👀
(There are certainly better perspectives out there on this memoir)
