We WON our challenge to Pennsylvania's ban on Medicaid coverage of abortion!

It is tempting to treat Shamar Elkins’s actions as the isolated incident of a madman. But poor mental health is never a reasonable explanation for attempting to execute one’s wife and children. Patriarchy offers a better explanation.
Now, Michigan joins states like Washington and Colorado that have taken action to repeal these laws.
We have previously successfully challenged Idaho’s Pregnancy Exclusions and are currently challenging Kansas’s Pregnancy Exclusion.
With two wins under our belt, we’re not stopping now!
Because of this court’s ruling, and the incredible advocacy of Michiganders, all people in Michigan will have full control over one of the most important and deeply-personal decisions they can make.
More than 30 states have advanced directive laws including a pregnancy exclusion on the books.
Graphic to announce a lawsuit win by If/When/How and Compassion & Choices with a teal paper texture background. At the top in blue is "We teamed up with Michiganders to sue their state, and..."Below in black is "We won!!! We won!!! We won!!!" And in blue under that, it reads, "Huge news: Michigan law that denied pregnant people's rights was ruled unconstitutional."
HUGE NEWS: We just won our lawsuit!
Last October, we teamed up with @compandchoices.bsky.social to file a lawsuit arguing that Michigan’s Pregnancy Exclusion law violated Michiganders’ constitutional rights.
Last week, the court agreed with us!

A graphic announces that “S.1095 moves on to full committee.” The text is displayed in bold blue lettering on a torn paper-style background. Behind it is a faded image of the South Carolina State House and a crowd of protesters holding signs. At the bottom, white text reads: “Full committee hearing is scheduled for tomorrow at 9:00 AM.” A red warning icon appears near the headline.
A teal background graphic with centered white text explains S.1095. It states that a similar abortion ban was defeated previously, but the bill has been reintroduced. The text describes S.1095 as an extreme anti-abortion bill that would ban nearly all abortions, remove key exceptions, criminalize providers and patients, restrict access to abortion medication, target support networks like PSAF, and allow lawsuits against those involved. The graphic concludes: “This isn’t just an abortion ban, it’s a targeted attack on community and support.”
A teal background graphic provides a call to action urging viewers to contact members of the Senate Medical Affairs Committee to oppose S.1095. It lists several South Carolina senators along with their phone numbers and email addresses. The text encourages calling and emailing to oppose the bill and any further restrictions on abortion access in the state.

That's why we came together with @legalvoice.org and
@prochoicewa.bsky.social to pass the Dignity in Pregnancy Loss (DPL) act into law.
DPL protects Washingtonians from being investigated or criminalized for their pregnancy losses, no matter the cause.
Period.
Until last year, Washington required coroners to investigate every fetal death based on suspicion that someone had an abortion.
That meant families couldn't even have remains returned to them while a coroner's investigation was pending.
Imagine grieving under those conditions.
In the last 20 years, over 1,300 people in the U.S. have been criminalized for miscarriages, stillbirths, or self-managed abortions.
And who gets targeted is not a coincidence.
When a Black woman loses a pregnancy, the system too often responds with suspicion, not support.
An ombre grey to taupe background graphic that goes from darker to lighter from top to bottom. At the top in black is text that reads, "Let's talk about Dignity in Pregnancy Loss for Black Maternal Health Week." Below that are logos for Pro-Choice Washington, If/When/How, and Legal Voice.
Pregnancy loss is already devastating.
Black women deserve dignity in these moments—not criminalization.
For #BMHW26, we’re highlighting the law we helped pass with prochoicewa.bsky.social and @legalvoice.org that protects anyone against the criminalization of a pregnancy outcome 🖤
Senator Matt Leber doesn’t believe moving Mifepristone and Misoprostol to Schedule IV drugs will impact pregnant patients.
Feel free to share with him your stories of needing mife and miso to save your life.

S.1095 did not receive a vote today in subcommittee. They will reconvene tomorrow at 9 AM to continue deliberations.

A WREN graphic with an orange background and WREN's logo in the lower right corner. At the top in a white text box is black text that states, "URGENT: S. 1095." Below is black text that explains, "A hearing for S. 1095, a total abortion ban, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14 at 9:00 AM in Room 308, Gressertte Building, Columbia Statehouse."
Tomorrow, South Carolina senators will hear S.1095, a total abortion ban that would criminalize patients, restrict care, and put support networks at risk.
Help stop this bill!

Repro justice for all. Not just here. Everywhere.
We must struggle for a future in which no one has try to survive the threat of bombs, siege, displacement, forced family separation by U.S.-funded state violence.

Sickening. A travesty. An outrage.
For 35 years, Defense for Children International- Palestine has been at the forefront of advocating for and supporting the rights of Palestinian children.
Israel has forced them to shut down.
So pro-life means jailing women who miscarry but shrugging when the deranged president says “a whole civilization will die tonight.” Do I have that right?
Thank you, Bree! Will do going forward and sorry for the haste that led to us not putting in alt text.
This U.S. state violence cannot continue.
We must reject and counter this death-making and put pressure on anyone and everyone with power to stop threatening entire families with destruction.
A graphic of a storm with a winding road through rolling green hills. In front, there's a crashed white car on the wrong side of the media on its side. In the background and to the left is a tornado. On the right and in the background is a house being pulled a part by the wind. In the center in a purple rectangle is white text that reads, "When someone is criminalized for their pregnancy outcome, they face a legal, physical, and emotional twister that can wreak havoc on their life."
When someone is arrested for an abortion or pregnancy loss, they face a legal twister that can wreak havoc on their life.
The system is designed to do this.
But today, we released a new resource to put more people-power into disrupting the cycle: ifwhenhow.org/news/abortio...
We’re defending birthright citizenship at the Supreme Court because President Trump doesn’t get to define what is means to be American.
This requires us to do something beyond visibility, from mutual aid, to legal help, to stopping attacks and bans that fuel surveillance and policing of queer communities and families at every level.
