highly recommend the Evoworks line of boards. their stuff is a cut above even keychron’s higher end models and a huge jump above anything cheaper. they’re a bit pricier, but IMO well worth the price, especially for their build quality.

unfortunately i think the dust issue is inherent to the switch design :(
the big thing w matias and other clone alps being shit is the sensing leaf - SKCM/L used a very very complicated (12 part i think?) leaf which i think just sounded better? as well as housing and slider materials
funnily enough, Sho also had some replica Urushi caps made at some point, and sold a few sets, so it could be a full Sho build…
i think so. Sho makes a replica of it, since the original HGs are almost impossible to find.
a picture of a keycap of a cat who has a Boba Fett mask. the keycap is on top of a scope zeroing turret, which says “1 CLICK = 1/2 MOA”
another soom to the artisan keycap collection!
Mando Soomblank.
ooooh, very very nice. industrial grey is so damn good, i also don’t have one in my collection but am wanting one at some point. some dude randomly pulled up to one of our keyboard meets with a Mopar SSK completely out of the blue, then never came again LMAO. i still think about that board…
completely totally valid in that case, just wasn’t sure if you knew! what config/layout did you get?
WE’RE SO BACK
I'm coming out of retirement to attempt a second run of A History of Violets, this time in MTNU profile. I've opened up the interest check form for early feedback, though I haven't formally launched it yet.

Two key macropad made of stacked acrylic, it is dark green with a clear middle. It has bright green and white keycaps with a steel plate. It is on a weathered wood and metal dock.

Lilbae macropad with PBTfans Mischief in a custom case
just an fyi, modelfkeyboards aka ellipse lowk kinda sucks - there’ve been a lot of issues with QC on their boards, shoddy build quality, among other issues. would rec unicomp if you’re wanting a vintage IBM feel, and their boards are made on original tooling (if I recall correctly)

wowza, these are both amazing examples!
Both of my restored Model M's
the Honda S2000 was my affordable dream car, but with current prices… i don’t think it’ll be affordable any time soon www
a beige keyboard with a gold badge “Saturn 60” with keycaps; from left to right: a dark red blank, the left guy from the two pointing soyjack meme, then a bright orange SKCM Alps Amber switch with no cap, then the right guy from the two pointing soyjack meme, then a dark blue blank.
got some new Amano Studio Alps keycaps in today, this is just way too funny LOL
Kiko’s getting really good at doing resinwriting on his artisan caps.
seen here on a beige Saturn-60 keyboard with SKCM Amber Alps and IBM 5140 keycaps.
huh, i didn’t know these existed. let me know how tactile they are compared to the Naevies, my Raeds aren’t tactile enough for my liking LOL
happy early birthday!!!
(also as a side note, any other EC dome will not be compatible with Naevies or Raeds, unfortunately. those two have a radically different dome structure than most EC domes.)
dang, unfortunate :( yeah i can’t think of anything keyboard related worth the money at best buy. i do think the Ticktype’ll be a world of a difference though! lmk how you like it if you do end up getting it!
oooh, okay, gotcha! i’ve heard the new domes are more… linear which i’m not a big fan of LOL
i have some of the Raeds but i can’t find my HE fasteners for my plate/PCB LMAO
i also think i might get a new HE compat plate cut because i wanna throw it into a more interesting TKL than a Tiger Lite.
honestly might be worth it, unfortunately. they didn’t offer anything else? what store is it? maybe you can get some nice switches or keycaps instead with that rebate.
whoah, what an awesome first car! i was thinking about importing a Honda Beat, but where i live, the roads are long and straight (boring) and people drive faster than the Beat’s top speed, so i don’t think that would be a good idea 😅
just an FYI, Aula’s boards aren’t great. a few people i know had their Aulas’ batteries expand, and i believe they had some issues with fighting CS to get replacements. that being said, check out the Ticktype DP 104. it’s a bit pricier, but Ticktype’s parent company is great.
Metakeebs domes’ll be happening Soon™, so there’ll be another cheap option readily available if Astrodomes are too tactile.
yoooo that’s hella nice. the CK domes are specifically for the Hall Effect Raeds and Naevies, just FYI, and won’t work w normal EC stuff. if you’re looking for more tactility i highly highly recommend Astrodomes, they’re really awesome and are stupid affordable compared to other options.
hell yeah. which topre board did you get, and is it stock or have you messed with aftermarket domes at all?
whoah, that’s very cool! how do you like the GR86? I eventually want to buy a fun manual RWD car, but not for a while wwwww
are you a sim racer too?
<3 i’m glad you liked my photo wwwwww
Olivetti lowkey might be a good replacement. i haven’t seriously looked for DCS SMRT just yet, maybe i’ll make a mechmarket post.
