The £10 Return Fare – and Everything Else that Went Wrong with Cumbernauld Why the "Town of Tomorrow" fails us today

"Cumbernauld didn’t fail because modernism was doomed. It failed because they let it rot, and then told us it was inevitable." My thoughts on the town of tomorrow, today! open.substack.com/pub/smixsam/...

This government is such a cataclysmic disappointment in every way

Any plans here MUST take account of the future cross-Clyde rail tunnel and the main station linking Queen Street and Central. It's an inevitability and a necessity and the fact that Glasgow hasn't yet developed safeguarded plans means opportunities like this will be wasted.

Today I discovered that people have been uploading old stock photo CD-ROMs to the Internet Archive and now I'm obsessed with the mid-'90s business-core aesthetic.

I just find it interesting how many British centrists can see the issue when billionaire Elon Musk uses his money and power to influence American law and Government policy to operate how he wants it to, but don’t see the problem when JK Rowling does the same in Britain.

I think it’s fine to bully people for reading Harry Potter in 2025 actually

If you want to read your old Harry Potter books, you should do it in secret and shamefully - you know, in the way that J.K. Rowling wants to force trans people to live.

Are Muslims really banning dogs in parks? 🤔

Let’s look at this perfect example of how rage baiting works, and how disinformation spreads, sticks, and fuels division, even years after being debunked…

Val d'Oro Chip shop in Glasgow has nailed its colours to the mast. How you react is up to you, but you do have a right to take that into consideration in making your choice of who to give your business.

TEAM COCO!

Well it used fairly standard (albeit advanced) techniques to separate and clean up vocals from a recording from the 70’s. It’s really not connected to the same kind of GenAI slop you see elsewhere. Conflating the two is misleading and unhelpful
