That said I know there's misdiagnosis. I also know there's some medical professionals who don't believe DID is real. But my opinion is that this is damage done by people who thought they had DID but were mistaken. It's hard moving through the world with this condition. Many people doubt it.

But self diagnosis is dangerous.

It's OK to say this is what I think it is. But laying claim to something as an identity when you haven't received an assessment might mean you're mistaken. DID isn't fun.

I'm waiting on an assessment for autism. I wouldn't dream of calling myself autistic.

Personal opinion.

I think it damages the lives and mental health of people living with DID for people without a diagnosis to publicly declare they have DID, let alone monetize it.

This is going to hurt some. But it's the truth. Go to a psychiatrist and take the diagnosis they give you.

BTW thanks for being cool about it. The condition kinda gets a bad rap by a few bad actors.
