perfectionism is so often seen as a permissive ability to create or drive something towards perfection, but in reality, it's a crippling inability to let go of anything imperfect

it's an obsession, it stagnates you, and gets you stuck on things you shouldn't be

The team worked so hard on this. Traveller is such a deep system, and bringing that to life in a digital way was not easy. Pumped for folks who love the Traveller #ttrpg, or who have never tried it before, to dive in and experience the game in a new way!

wouldn't it be funny if EVERYONE blocked this Attie AI account @ bsky.app/profile/atti... before they could do anything with it

Tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 Mountain, I'm on a panel of local game designers - part of @pemetawe.bsky.social's 5 year anniversary. The panel is going to be livestreamed and recorded. I'm really excited about this opportunity to celebrate my favourite local game store! Check it out!

I am running Vampire for the first time in 2 hours. I’ve played so much, and now it’s my time in the Storyteller’s chair. Wish me luck?

Canada makes incredible board games. We are thrilled to be teaming up with six 🇨🇦 publishers to launch Play the North, an event series dedicated to connecting players, retailers, and creators from across our beautiful frozen country 🍁 (1/2)

“Casting” actors as the NPCs in your home TTRPG games is severely underrated.

Players falling for an antagonist’s tricks because they love the actor playing them? Delicious.

Plus: the great shorthand that comes from filling out a character with the assumptions your table has of a performer.

This is such a succinct way to put it. Fantastic. 💯

You just unlocked a deep, long-hidden memory. Good god that worm is burned into my psyche and I didn’t even realize where it was from.

Moments are so fleeting.

Whatever you can do to make the people in your life know you love them, do it.

And despite how hard it is, when people tell you they matter to you—try to believe them.

My aunt was similar, and passed away late last year. Her’s was cancer, though. And she ended up having three years to really see what she meant to people. The woman we remembered today was taken without warning. Without a chance to really see what she meant.

But she was also human, with the quirks and foibles that come with it. I think she was like me in that way, treating those parts as more than the good.

She was a woman who was always kind, generous, hardworking, and self-sacrificing. She went the extra mile for everything and expected nothing in return.

She didn’t want people making a fuss over her. Not even for a funeral. She wasn’t someone who accepted love easily, or saw herself as deserving of appreciation.

But she was. Of course she was.

Last week, a dear family friend who was like a second mother to me and my sister passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. She didn’t want a service, so we said our goodbyes today in a more casual setting.

But the thing sticking with me is why she didn’t want a service.

For real. At first I thought it was just someone mixing up the places, since that happens all the time, but after I told him it was the wrong place he tripled down and ended up slamming into my door and banging my window HARD until it woke the neighbours up, too. Scary as hell. 😱
