I talked to Bryan Fyffee, a 5 ⭐️ artist who's worked everywhere from Hallmark to Disney. He has a million stories. I love his haunted houses & astronauts. He spoke to me and my mom about for easily 20 minutes and even threw in a free mini print for us. Get his art!

I also met the owner of peculiarcoffin.com Karla AnaMarie whose style is is basically Over the Garden Wall with Gothic influences. I want to work with her on a project desperately!!! Need her to get into graphic novel iillustration. She would be amazing!

I went to the Oddities & Curiosities Expo yesterday and only saw two zines in the whole place. I did talk to one incredible zine artist though she wasn't selling zines at this event.

If you don't want to deal w the hassle of making a direct storefront for you books and other creative projects, I can't stress enough that Itch.io is a nice middle ground. It gives you a theme editor so you can pick the background color for your landing page, you can add images, use basic WYSIWYG 🧵

Having tested the Canon Pixma on a 27-page document, my Epson Workforce is way more of a workhorse. The Pixma prints cleanly but past 10 pages it started struggling. For small, color-heavy print runs it seems good, though.

At first I was embarrassed to be excited to make zines about special interests but then I realized that's literally the point.
A grid of copies of the zine "PALS: The Radical Possibilities of Friendship", which is printed on orange paper, with a background of an explosion. The copies are lined up in rows on a yellow tabletop.
I put out "PALS: The Radical Possibilities of Friendship" over a decade ago. There are many thousands of them out in the world, people have gotten tattoos about it (?!??!?!), and it's still going-- I have two big boxes of copies at home I need to fold.
