Excerpt from my next article on Forest City, a charter city proposal for Suffolk that is wholly dependent on deregulated SEZ status.

Former Labour minister Patricia Hewitt backs Forest City, representing the technocratic wing of the party that embraces:
PFI
Public-private partnerships
Marketisation of public assets
Zone-based economic governance
This is bipartisan collusion.

You'll be able to rent a room at a ridiculous cost as long as you can pass the affordability checks or know someone who earns a lot and will guarantee it, seeing as there is NO requirement to force LL/agents to allow rent guarantor companies. It's absolutely disgraceful.

And what will that mean in practice?
No rent caps so eviction by the back door after S21 banned likely April 26.
You can beg your LL/ agent to be allowed to keep a pet

With respect, you need to look harder at
1. When they will be implemented after royal ascent - RRB S21 ban likely April 26
2. What their impact is likely to be, eg RRB doesn't impose rent caps or restrict the ridiculous affordability tests.

Oh! C*nting a*se f* ck. Obviously looking for a renewed contract.

caused by high rents and greedy ( seeing as the majority don't have mortgages ) landlords. And no rent caps so the situation won't be resolved and more evictions by the back door by rents hikes.

Well we've been waiting since all the way back to Theresa May, and it's now expected the earliest date to bring in the banning of s21s is April 2026. So nearly 2 years of further evictions and homelessness under Starmer's 'Labour',

100% and in the end their brave new bill will push up rents even further because no rent caps!
Btw, banning S21s no expected earliest April 2026

It looks like it will be April 2026, at the earliest, that S21, no fault evictions, will be banned!

Brexit’s silent wrecking ball: how leaving the EU helped gut UK university research The Guardian yet again fails to address Brexit's University Enterprise Zones (UEZs) as a key contributor to funding gaps.

The Guardian is not reporting the truth on the corporate capture of British universities, the post-Brexit funding gap, and the silent killers of Arts and Humanities courses by University Enterprise Zones (UEZs). Shameful.

Comment: 'the Metropolitan Police shouldn't get a say in designing London's streets' The Metropolitan Police has been rocked by scandals and their planning advice is toxic to community building. So why do they still get a say in designing our streets?

ok fine i googled it, 1989 apparently - one more thing to 'thank' thatcher for

i'm actually really curious about the origin of the 'safe by design' stuff in the uk - not just hostile anti-homeless architecture, but police telling building developers they're not allowed to have overhangs to keep people out of the rain, or shrubbery, because this causes 'antisocial behaviour'
