Supreme Court Decision one year on – 365 days of confusion, gaslighting, and fear A ruling that was supposed to provide legal clarity has left service providers more confused than ever, and Trans+ people vulnerable. What now?

“[The ruling] has enabled a dark political climate where some politicians, including from Labour, sound like they’re borrowing from Trump’s playbook on trans equality,” Alex Parmar-Yee, @transsolidarity.bsky.social tells QueerAF

RIP to our trusty hoover, he will be missed by our floors and stairs. We will always remember the song of his people.

If anybody in Brighton would like to donate their old hoover to the Trans Pride Centre, we promise to give it a safe and loved home for the rest if its retirement ❤️

Illustrated artwork featuring a stylised blue figure made of dense, textured lines. The figure is shown opening their chest with both hands, revealing a glowing candle with a blue body and a pink flame inside. The background is a vibrant mix of purple, pink, and blue abstract strokes. The words “Trans Pride Brighton & Hove” appear in the upper right corner in white and pink lettering, and stylised text appears vertically along the left side. The art evokes remembrance, vulnerability, and inner light.

Today we honour trans lives lost to violence and discrimination. On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we hold grief, love, and solidarity. Join us for our TDOR vigil at Jubilee Square at 6:30pm.

You can’t ignore how hyper-visible trans people now are. But awareness that fixates on us isn’t the same as the awareness we need for one another. So check in with your friends, uplift those struggling, celebrate those thriving. Resistance comes from community, not headlines.

Image is a meme based on the “Drake Hotline Bling” reaction format. The face of Wes Streeting has been edited onto Drake’s body. In the top panel, “Drake” disapproves of a screenshot of a social media post condemning vandalism of the Filia conference venue. In the bottom panel, “Drake” approves of a news headline about the suicide of a trans girl described as “preventable” due to extreme delays in healthcare. Text over the meme says: “if you’re more offended by broken windows than dead children, then you might be the problem?”

Wild how some white gay politicians are happy to reap the benefits of activists who came before them but suddenly clutch their pearls when today’s activists fight back.

Property isn’t sacred. Trans lives are.

For the avoidance of doubt, a building is not human and therefore, does not have feelings to hurt.

7/7 We remain resilient. We remain united. Trans people belong in Brighton. Transphobic hate is not welcome here.

6/7 We’re not alone. We stand with brave cis women who reject transphobia. Misogyny is real and escalating. The “gender critical” agenda will only harm women by policing gender expression.

6 months ago 70 2 1 0

5/7 We’re also disappointed that Brighton & Hove City Council promised to fly the trans flag over both town halls this weekend in solidarity, then backed out, citing Black History Month. As if intersectionality doesn’t exist. Once again, our community is pushed aside by institutions.

4/7 We are deeply concerned about the risk of a retaliatory attack on the Trans Pride Centre and other community spaces. We urge everyone to stay alert, look after one another, and move safely.

6 months ago 68 2 1 0

3/7 We’re already seeing trans-exclusionary activists weaponise this moment to portray themselves as victims while they platform hate. They drape themselves in suffragette colours, celebrating a movement built on militant direct action, yet condemn trans people for refusing to quietly accept abuse.

2/7 However we will not denounce members of our wider community for expressing anger born of marginalisation. For years, trans people in Brighton have been dismissed by the Council, attacked in the media, harassed in our streets and excluded from public life. Anger is a natural response to injustice

🧵 1/7 Last night, a trans-led direct action group, Bash Back, damaged windows at the Brighton Centre in response to it hosting the Filia Conference. To be clear: TPB had no involvement in this and doesn’t coordinate with Bash Back. Our organising centres community safety and collective empowerment.

Shout out to all the people lining the @transpridebrighton.bsky.social parade route on Saturday who were waving trans flags, or wearing trans t-shirts, or otherwise being visibly supportive.

There were loads of you and honestly it means the world to know that you're all out there 🙂

Thank you to the 50k people who showed up to march with us yesterday. As a small, volunteer-run charity that doesn’t take corporate donations, the support we’ve seen this year, through volunteering or donations, has been overwhelming and galvanising. We’re 12 years in and just getting started!
