If so, be careful you don't accidentally sit on the cat. LOL

I wish I could say that I'm surprised by this but at this point kindness to each other has gone completely out the window when a school district says a sign that states "everyone is welcome here" is a teacher's opinion and therefore must be removed.
We used to be part of the conversations but seems like we got knocked out when GenZ became the conversation. Probably a lot to do with the fast changing landscape of technology. Now we're the old fogies.
Tomato SMS is now available to everybody! Track your nutrition, exercise, and more by texting instead of entering into an app. I tried it before it was available fully and I think it has some great features that make it fun to keep on track with your fitness goals. Try out the free trial.
Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.
I've been trying out TomatoSMS and it actually works pretty well, surprisingly. Will it be a game changer in the nutrition/health tracking space? Maybe?
Pretty big deal. @bookshop-org.bsky.social is selling ebooks now. You can now support indies while purchasing digital books.

I found it! Game Post! Looks like a cool place.
Games of Berkeley?
Unfortunately, I just saw this today and already had to come up with my own store bought solution instead, but glad I'm not the only one who had this exact issue that needed solving. Perhaps this might help some of you out there though.
Speaking of healthcare. Let's make @bsky.app the platform that fights misinformation. Some great follows are @drsusanoliver.bsky.social @jsm2334.bsky.social @therealtruther.bsky.social
Let's get them more followers and engagement than other platforms and let health science accounts find a home

Text reads: "What to do if someone quote-posts you, and you don't like it". Header graphic for the Unofficial Guide To Bluesky. A QR code is in the lower right corner.
If someone quote-posts you in a way you don't like, just click on the 3 dots at the bottom right & select "Detach quote." Automatically removes my original post from their quote-post. More: debbieohi.link/detach-quote...
I just did this for a troll, then blocked them.

An image of a screenshot from a pet DNA web site showing a chart that indicates an ancestral relationship of 50% stating that "Belle is Wonder's daughter"
We have done DNA tests on all of our rescue dogs to figure out their breed mix. One named Wonder unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. Surprisingly, we recently discovered a close DNA relative match as one of his daughters, Belle, after her pawrents reached out to us.
Recently played S.E.T.I. Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence and like it a lot and am hoping to play again very soon.

Tip for those trying to figure out whether or not to follow back: Go to the user's profile page and click REPLIES. You can get a good sense of how they're engaging with others on Bluesky (and also if they seem to have an agenda).

Scrolling video feeds are here and you can make your own version for others to use. 🎥
On Bluesky, you control your scroll. Your attention is valuable, and you should decide how it’s spent. That’s why we prioritize choice: choice of feeds, moderation labelers, etc.
bsky.app/profile/did:...
“If companies like PowerSchool practiced a privacy-first approach…only collecting and storing what they absolutely need to provide the services they promise, many data breaches would be far less harmful,” EFF’s @thorinklosowski.com told K12 Dive.
VICTORY! After over a decade, a federal court has declared that warrantless backdoor searches of US person’s communications collected under Section 702 of FISA is unconstitutional.
A game table set up with game components and board for a 3-player game of S.E.T.I.: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence.
Played a 3-player game of S.E.T.I.: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence for the first time. Sure, we got a few things wrong but now the next play, hopefully with 4-players, will be much smoother and faster. A great addition to the collection.
We had to get in on the video action too — Bluesky now has custom feeds for video!
Like any other feed, you can choose to pin these or not. Bluesky is yours to customize.
Live your life so that when you die, some joyless schmuck is annoyed that his entire social media feed is a wall of people's posts talking about how much you and your work meant to them
I like having a large-ish number of followers, because I have an ego, but here on Bluesky I was having fun when I had a fraction of my current followership, because I was having conversations and being part of the community. Followers aren't a hoard and you're not a dragon. Participation>collection.
"I wanna work in #BoardGames" reminder:
There is an awesome Tabletop Mentorship program (now under the @unpub.bsky.social umbrella.) It applies to folks interested in a wide range of industry roles (designer, publisher, marketing, content, etc.) Highly recommended.

Optimist: The cup is half full
Pessimist: The cup is half empty
Parent: If you two don't stop bickering you won't have a cup at all, full or empty
A lot of people think everything will work out if we just play by the rules but don’t seem to recognize that rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them and, well, that isn’t our present reality.
