Just for the record: This isn't the first time I read something like this.

It is mind blowing to me that there are people out there who think that the job of a "critic" is to be exclusively negative because the word reminds them of "criticize".
Did. Not so long ago even. I wish I remembered more of the actual game... I imagine I was too busy trying to focus on the controls. My brain definitely doesn't have enough wrinkles for that.
After all, why shouldn't I feature creep my export script?
PC gamer: PC games should never require gamepad. Only mouse and keyboard because every PC comes with mouse and keyboard.

That was what I was thinking, too. Took me a while to realize PipeWire does more than just audio. :D
Sure. I believe that. But man it's just the capturing audio OR video just like that, not having to decide between pops or latency or having pretty much any program just work with the config I set up ...
Like I can PLAY a game that CAPTURES my microphone and then RECORD all that with OBS. Chef kiss.
When I came back to Linux 2 years ago, I found things were mostly still the same, but 2 things impressed me. First of course support for Windows games thanks to DXVK/Wine/Proton and second: Pipewire. The amount of me shouting "holy shit this finally works without hassle" was very high.
But... Sharing the weird things in this game is half the fun!! Why the hell would they block that?
Yeah wait why are you doing that? Is Tomodachi blocking the screenshot feature?
Oh hey half the pictures and avatars don't load up. So BlueSky is just half-broken today, huh?
"comet 3I/ATLAS releasing 70 Olympic swimming pools of water vapour every day"

I just saw that these videos are all 90+ minutes long. Holy heck!
Reiko Nagase - aka the girl from Ridge Racer - has a sister: Kei Nagase who is a pilot from Ace Combat.
Ridge Racer and Ace Combat take place int he same universe.
Yet we don't have any drifting planes. Boo!
FF7 intro sweep is nice and smooth without the train wheel cuts #nintendo64
And yet, DRM is a much more widespread problem on Steam than GenAI is on GOG. Once that changes OR they will allow DRM, so will my tone. Heck I HAVE bought much less games since the AI shit. But that's not good enough. And it makes me not want to continue the argument.
I rather praise them for the latter while still reserving criticizing them for the former by - for example - not becoming a Patron, which I had planned to do. Instead I wrote them just that. And I think that's the more constructive way to go about it.
Less passionate on Steam itself... well maybe I do because they normalized DRM and for me that's just as bad as GenAI.
So if I have a store who wants to "make no definite statement" on one terrible thing (GenAI), but making a VERY clear statement against the other terrible thing (DRM), [...]
Yeah it looks like something I'd love, too... I'm just so tired of studios becoming unable to just make a game without trying to make it into another cinematic universe with arcs and spinoffs and .... all that.
Not watched yet, but will check out. :)
I got a day off tomorrow, so tonight I'll celebrate with some good games, music and Civvie videos. :)

Problem is with Steam I have to research whether the game is DRM-free and it can change with an update. But either way I can safely boycott both exploitative technologies without playing the guilty-by-association game.
I really wanna try out PRAGMATA, but ever video I saw and article I read doesn't refer to is as "a new game" but "a new IP/franchise" which leads me to believe the game either has a massive cliffhanger or is pushed as multi-game franchise in marketing.
Biggest turnoff right there.
Discord: My minimum window size is-
KDE: You have no power here.
And if you had to ask me what I hated more, my answer would still be DRM.
Steam: Check this game on your wishlist has been reduced from $39.99 to $1.99.
Me: Meh, still too expensive.
GOG: Check this game on your wishlist is $39.99 but no DRM.
Me: *throws money immediately*
"Try Steelseries", they said. "They got good wireless devices", they said.
I've never seen a device all my life that needed more than 2 seconds to find its 2.4Ghz receiver. But that Steelseries mouse manages to take anywhere between 5 to 15.
Yet the fairy tale land of Toussaint is perfect for such an ending. Almost so perfect, you might expect Geralt to wake up from this dream while in reality he's bleeding out on the street somewhere. Luckily it's not a dream. And I'm happy for that.
Despite me just wanting to finish Witcher 3 at this point, playing Blood and Wine is wonderful. It's a damn victory lap for Geralt. He makes good coin, gets a home, people cheer him on. He deserves this. Which is why it doesn't fit into this world of the Witcher - which isn't one of happy endings.
