Weston Park is a museum with Sheffield at its heart, one where the city’s stories are its greatest treasure. And that’s only possible thanks to the people of Sheffield, who so generously share their memories and stories with us. 🧵✨
Orville’s jacket and family photos are currently on display in Sheffield Stories: Caribbean Footsteps, and his family story was so kindly shared with us by his daughter, Carole Ann.
Orville was a trained accountant, but wasn’t able to get an accountancy job when he came to Sheffield in 1962. Instead, he did a variety of jobs - bus driver, foreman - all the while, making and adjusting clothes to earn extra money to save and help his family to buy their own home 🏡
Behind every object in Weston Park Museum is a life lived and a story shared, just like Orville Fuller’s! 🧵
Tour of #Sheffield 's Lake District anyone? Beautiful on a day like today ☀️
