Im designing a tool that use AI to flag when someone is taking someone else out of context. Misquotes, uncharitable interpretations, inaccurate recontextualizations… maybe this should be a bluesky labeler…

Like social media manipulation does mean that:
— voters got false information about candidates
— bad actors encouraged people not to vote
— anonymity protects but is also a vehicle for disinformation

That’s just how the thing is now! Online trust is tenuous/damaged! Them’s the breaks

People on this app get really angry every time I point out that social media manipulation is a real phenomenon that we are all stewing in and that’s having real world consequences and I’m sure part of that is engagement farmers who do that manipulation not liking people talking about it

Less so user research and more so exploring ideas of collective governance and what would be required there. We've never really had a platform where the needs of individual users are the focus point... reddit might be the closest with custom moderation rules etc...
