I saw a pelican trying to catch similar sized carp in Centennial Park, Sydney, just a few days ago. It was nonchalantly leaving its beak open in the water waiting for them to swim in.

Deadly Funeral Bell can easily be mistaken for the Velvet Shank so worth taking great care to identify!
