VIRGINIA ORGANIZING'S STATEMENT ON GOVERNOR YOUNGKIN'S SUPPORT FOR DEPLOYING THE VA NATIONAL GUARD TO COOPERATE WITH I.C.E. ENFORCEMENT We are disheartened that Governor Youngkin has expressed support for utilizing state resources to deploy the National Guard on behalf of I.C.E. activity. Although we are not surprised by his alignment with President Trump's position on the matter, we are discouraged by the lack of humanity that is shown toward our immigrant communities in Virginia. This is not a service to his constituents. Not only does using the Virginia National Guard imply an unnecessary threat of force, but experts have also deemed the move to be "unusual" since deploying the troops into communities is generally reserved for national emergencies, like natural disasters. Youngkin's support for this action speaks to his perspective of the immigrant and immigrant-descended communities he serves. If the governor is willing to use state resources to cooperate with the I.C.E. agenda, we must question what other measures will be taken that will put our communities at risk. We deserve to feel safe in our own communities - all of us. Virginia Organizing is committed to empowering our communities to stand up for what is best for all Virginians, and to ensure that the needs of directly-affected members of our communities are met. WHEATPASTINE GUIDE WHEATPASTE RECIPE Ingredients • 1½ cup cornstarch • 1 gallon of water (16 cups) + extra • Half-batch: ½ cup cornstarch to 6 cups water Instructions MAKE CORNSTARCH STARTER: Measure 1½ cups of cornstarch into a bowl. Using a spoon, mix with enough room temperature water until you reach a smooth and thin soup consistency. BOIL WATER: Put one gallon of water (16 cups) on the stove and bring to boil. ADD STARTER: Once the water boils, turn off the heat and mix in the cornstarch starter. Add the starter slowly while stirring quickly with a whisk or fork. The starter should get incorporated into the entire gallon of hot water. LET COOL: Once it is well-mixed, allow the mixture to cool. It will thicken as it cools. This is your completed wheatpaste. TRANSFER: Transfer your wheatpaste into containers with a lid for easy storage. It is easier to transfer your wheatpaste into containers while it's still warm, before it thickens completely. STORE: In a sealed container in the refrigerator. HOW TO PUT UP POSTERS Supplies needed: • Large paintbrush • Container of wheatpaste • Posters • Scraper (optional) • Paper towels and bottle of water to clean up (optional)

The reason that voting by mail is such a threat to minority rule is that A. It makes voting easy and B.
