I used to draw characters playing instruments long ago and I thought could try drawing that again. And that idea coincided with my wanting to draw an American badger 🦡🎸

I kind of scrapped the military thing, but he remained a hunter nomad/traveling worker of sorts (most likely to take on a sailor's role when food is hard to come by)
