I wish I could work on my gaming backlog as fervently as when I rented games as a child. Those games had to go back on Monday, so they needed to be finished over the weekend.

Its late, but I did pretty well with my Witch on the Holy Night rolls. <500 SQ for NP3 Aoko, but Alice was probably about 360 for NP1.

12. Öoo. A fun puzzle platformer where you blow things up to solve puzzles. It's great in that it makes you think outside the box, but it guides you on how to do that without making it obvious, or too abstract. Definitely worth checking out, my pics are random and don't do it justice.
11. Resident Evil Requiem. Its great, and others have put it better than I could on why that is. RE2 is my favorite RE, and it was fun revisiting Raccoon City. Game looks great in HDR (using RenoDX mod), these pics are washed out bc they're SDR screenshots. There was never enough Requiem ammo :(
Just realized that Jet Set Radio Future is perfectly playable on xemu. Always kinda assumed that Xbox (and 360) emulation was just out of reach, but nope lol. Gonna have to add that to my backlog.

10. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. My first R&C, and I really liked it. Very polished, hard to fault it, except maybe it's too 'on rails' in the sense its handhold-y for casuals, and short. My favorite part of the gameplay was the guns & upgrading them. I also liked dashing & the hoverboots.

9. 1000xResist. It's rare that I play a game that really hooks me to the point where I can't play anything else, and think about it a lot when I'm doing other things. A great story, although I have mixed feelings over the characters, more Iris specifically (which I think is kinda the point/normal)

8. Beyond Citadel. A great fps that has a lot of depth with its guns, reloading mechanics, movement, and piloting mechs and tanks. The enemy AI and map design is simple, but every encounter is unique due to the variety. Might actually be one of my favorite fps.

7. Record of Lodoss War -Deedlit in Wonderland Labyrinth- (PC). Sadly disappointing, a run-of-the-mill metroidvania that tells its story poorly and doesn't sell me on the IP. Great spritework and decent bosses at least. I liked Touhou Luna Nights more.

6. Shin Megami Tensei IV. First mainline SMT, and I really liked it. Great story and music, gameplay was satisfying to a point, but hated doing the Neutral ending reqs. FYI: look up the challenge quests and do them as you go. Planning to go Soul Hackers > Strange Journey > Raidou > next SMT.

I get there's a much longer conversation to be had about how NH is lacking a lot of things the older games had, but I'm going backwards from NH, and NL has yet to blow me away, even though a lot of people seem to think it's the best in the series.
I feel like people might be conflating the ruthlessness of the original AC or WW villagers to NL. Outside of a mild argument between Ankha and Rosie, I haven't seen anything particularly noteworthy. Full disclosure though, I'm only able to play NL in short bursts (<15 min per day).
I'm nearly a month into New Leaf, and it really just makes me want to return to New Horizons. The primary reason I wanted to try NL is to see the differences in dialogue with the villagers, and it's honestly quite similar. #acnl #acnh
