Ambisonics shootout today! Putting my DIY’d ambisonics microphone up against a Sennheiser Ambeo VR. The DIY one cost about 10x less to build than to buy the Sennheiser model, so let’s see if there’s a 10x difference in sound!

this can be decoded into 5 discrete channels whereas blumlein is only 2, makes it better suited for surround projects!

immersive recording pt. 2 i tracked a 35 piece choir last week using a decca tree and ambisonics microphone, it was a lot of fun and the atmos mix sounds great!
