Ooh is it out, or just a trailer?

It's probably better for RSI than stretching to use shift in some cases.

Don't worry, we don't blame ordinary folk for the orange one. And for now at least our immigration folk are not as scary as yours. You'll be fine!

a bear vacuuming a floor as a japanese salaryman looks on in terror

found out about the manga kuma gurashi which is like those ones where a manic pixie dream girl comes into a salaryman's life and starts doing all his domestic chores for him to heal his heart except in this one it's a realistically drawn bear and the salaryman is terrified on every single page

Strike leaflet with photos of pickets

Unite to strikes at Cambridge University. Strikes begin on April 21st and 22nd, followed by April 30th and May 1st. We are starting with two days a week to help our reps measure attendance levels and leave us the option to build up to more strike action as we get closer to exams.

They're not doing a collective consultation before they start individual meetings? Are the unions involved? (presumably this is across professional services as well as academics and researchers?)

Did customer services actually have anything helpful to say? Have they noticed how many bikes are not using it?

Bizarre cycle parking outside Sainsbury's which looks kind of like a series of mushrooms. People are expected to hoik their bikes up to a nearly vertical position, and lock them to the stalk of the mushroom. Unsurprisingly there was only one bike parked there, and that was not parked correctly, and locked in a very insecure fashion as a result.

I had an opportunity to (not) use the worst local supermarket cycle parking today... For a laugh I did actually attempt to park my e-cycle in this and nearly killed myself in the process. I did have a friendly chat with customer services about it...

I absolutely could not use something like that at the moment, with a frozen shoulder there's no way I can get my hybrid up like that! I can *ride* it fine, and park in normal horizontal racks, but lifting or pushing it up something steep is painful.

A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!

Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....

Traffic nightmare?

In this case and another with a widow owing tax on her dead husbands car (www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...) there seems to have been a written guilty plea from the person being charged, and it seems odd that in neither case could they sort the paperwork out without the criminal charge!

And before we changed the bed from double to king we had M&S glow in the dark planets! I wonder if they're still available?

Wow, does that one pre-date the biodegradable plastic usage? I would have expected it to have fallen to shreds!

Tonight in the ai reading group i was reminded of something that happened in 2006 after I dropped out of college, when I was living in a run-down old house next to jb alberto's in rogers park with a bunch of dudes.

it was, as you can imagine, not clean.

If you feel like it, quote with a pic of you in glasses.

Given I'm pretty much always wearing glasses, here's a pic in sunglasses!

Drivers love to say that they're just telling pedestrians and cyclists what to do because they're so so terrified of hurting us but then when you suggest they drive like they're actually terrified of hurting us they're like no fuck you

Except if the agricultural land owner can make more money (and the same amount of sheep) from sheep+solar than sheep alone, why not?

Je suis nulle en géographie mais le détroit d'Hormuz qu'on ouvre qu'on ferme qu'on rouvre qu'on referme, ça vaudrait pas le coup d'installer une chatière ?
