Healthcare in Taiwan is truly phenomenal. I pay $30/month for National Health Insurance. I’ve never waited more than 10 min as a walk-in at this ENT clinic, which costs only $8/visit, and I always leave with a clear diagnosis and treatment.

I’m from the US. This is not normal—but it should be.

Pretty awesome that Taiwan has this measure to freeze gas and diesel costs, with a government oil company footing much of the bill as it assesses the situation. Further, the government may require Taipower to absorb electricity costs, meaning it may have to forgo much of last year’s profit.
