After a length of development that - if I truly, deeply thought about it, I would instantly go insane as if I'd opened some Lovecraftian skin-bound tome - our narrative city-builder Generation Exile has launched out of Early Access into full 1.0 today!

Had this pic saved to my desktop for ages because it's great - no idea what I'm ever going to do with it, figured I'd just post it here
Ted is saying, "Hey dude, there's no reason to get all weepy, no matter how non-triumphant times may seem."

AI footage in the quote post. However it's a real fact, with real footage available (See my link below). Now people who believed it have a false image of how octopus act, and people who recognise it as AI question a real observed scientific fact. Utter bullshit.

Wow, somehow missed until now that this is all happening - congrats :)
Utterly breathtaking new photo from Artemis. I'm speechless
Obligatory reminder of the fire scene (still amazing, back when everything was real etc etc): www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl-Y...

Hey y'all, I was recently hit by layoffs at Respawn/EA:
I'm a veteran #LevelDesigner with 17+yrs of exp in the AAA space (MP + SP, 3rd person + FPS).
I'm seeking a Principal Level Design or Lead LD/Design Manager role (I've worked in both IC + management) if y'all are hiring/know connections!
Between the Artemis 2 stuff and going to see Project Hail Mary yesterday, I'm enjoying the jarring whiplash I get from suddenly warping to worlds, both real and fictional, where the biggest American institutions and projects are run by nice people who really know what they're doing
Instantly obsessed with how a lump of nutella freed from the jar might behave in zero gravity. Now youtubing nutella viscosity
Screenshot of Joker and Batman from the Adam West Batman series surfing. Joker says "Cowabunga, Bat-Drip! As surfers go, it looks like you're all wet! Ahahaha!", to which Batman replies "Shut the fuck up! Fuck you!"
Haha, a classic
Yeah i realised today I've never actually gone back and finished Red Alert, and I want to fix it. Also, we should get online and jump into some (super frantic / stressful) red alert deathmatches
Haha nice, cheers for that :)
Going back to Command and Conquer / Red Alert Remastered and:
1) It's a lovely remaster, perfectly done
2) The intro with Einstein going back in time to magically wipe Hitler out of the existence with a handshake is quite a thing
And / or normalise not having achievements in games at all
This is true
I've been thinking the same! Let's figure something out
I love this series in principle, but every time I read them I wonder why it's so rare that the two diners are actually from the very obvious two sides of the real divide we all know the title refers to?
I had to google what this is because I don't know much about this stuff, but I'll definitely bear this in mind for further down the line, cheers :)
Coming from a level design background, being able to scale and rotate the same few meshes to make a lot of the final environments, for levels of any shape, is kinda the dream... which is one of the reasons my game is set underground :) (and leans into a moody, lower-resolution aesthetic, etc)
I have, but not listened to it - just added it to my wishlist, cheers for the reminder :) (It's a pity that Neill Blomkamp's Aliens sequel didn't happen)
Alien Resurrection, at the end of an Alien Quadrilogy all-night marathon at a film festival. The joy of seeing Alien and Aliens on the big-screen for the first time (and back to back), followed by the novelty of rewatching Alien 3 (it's fine), and then... absolute confusion and nerd rage
If you know this video of the brilliant Anna-Maria Hefele - or just love music that seems at once to defy the laws of physics & exalt them:
She graciously agreed to add custom thematic vocals + a new song performance to @thekillingstone.com - out now on Steam early-access.

Number 1 for me
(Flashback to me at a friend's house playing one of the Viz games on the Amiga for the first time, thinking it was absolutely nuts / amazing)
Mortal Kombat on the MD was a nice little moment of console history because it was distinguished from the snes version by having a cheat code to unlock proper (red) blood - I'm guessing the Amiga version had the red blood turned on by default, because you could get away with anything on the Amiga...
Yep, Sensible + Bitmap Brothers all the way.
And I saw Xenocrisis but haven't played it yet - it's on the wishlist!
