I love fandom.

But fandom consistently looks the other way when people get hurt.

It’s a good-vibes-only kind of jam. No drama here, friendos!

It makes them especially vulnerable to incompetent or straight-up bad people in positions of responsibility and leadership.

A lot of real people got hurt by ‘Gaaays In Spaaace.’ Real people were lied to and ripped off. Real people were viciously attacked online for speaking the truth about what was actually going on.

I don’t know how to explain to them that Paul is making appearances and doing podcasts.

Which, you know, granted. Dan Deevy *is* bad. But an entire board of directors had the responsibility to keep him in check.

I understand why they don’t want to talk about it.

But doing so should be the bare minimum for people who want to try to continue to lead in non-profit spaces.

He was a board member of a *disastrous* 501c3 that screwed vendors out of thousands of dollars and lied about scholarships.

He offers no explanations or apologies, other than what he’s saying in private. Which is probably ‘Dan Deevy is bad, you know how it is.’

This is your regular reminder that the enablers on Dan Deevy’s board of directors are desperate for you to forget they ever existed.
