no no I don't blame you, it's been a bit slow on there because I havent been sharing it much

What do you mean by pages here?
Also thanks for sharing :)
It sounds like Bard mooostly meets these needs but it might need 1 more level of hierarchy to attach sub ideas/stories to the major ideas/stories
But right now you can mark things as Canon on Bard which is cool
Also I know I've been AFK for a bit. I've been busy and every time I think about Bard I ponder these questions. What can I do to make it a fun place for small friends rather than trying to think about how I can grow it a bunch. Even if it just helps a few people make a world thats great!
I also know there are some super in depth world building sites where you can really get into the details of everything but i dont think thats where Bard should go.
I'd like Bard to just be a lowkey fun way to build and expand on a world with friends
Not something for creating the new middle earth
I spent a bit of time talking to small groups of friends who were building their own world and I saw things like discord, trello, and google docs being used which for the most part are hard to navigate.
If you were to build your world in Bard what would you need and want?
Every couple weeks I ask myself, what would make Bard really fun for a small group of friends and it really feels like some improvements to collections so a group of friends can build and manage their world is the way
Who is out here making art as a hobby, just for fun and the joy of expressing oneself?
Thought I'd check in. I've been picking up woodworking and building another app that I've been regularly using a beta of for a year now.
Perhaps optimistically I think afterwards I'll be able to get back into Bard and some drawing
incredible how many great artists there are on here/out there
Definitely some shapeshifting/enchantment skills
I still love how it came out
Love the expressions
This is looking great!
This is so cool
Never know when you'll need a mace on the fly, love it :)
Hell yeah ๐ช keep at it!
Love it
I can see the effort though!
Such great linework!
Gorgeous, love the contrast
For the first time ever on Bard
- Someone posted some artwork
- Someone collaborated with a story
- Someone drew new artwork to match the story
So fun :) This endless loop of collaborating is what I imagined when I started Bard 8 years ago
Which visual artists do you think tell stories through their art the best?
I appreciate it, words like these keep me motivated :)
there's a core group that checks it from time to time and post or collab. I still love the project but haven't had a tonne of time to try and share it with people recently.
I'd appreciate it if you followed along and shared any feedback/ideas you have though :) I intend on working on it more soon
Oh good to know! I'm glad to hear you love it and thanks for sharing!
It's pretty quiet these days. In the last few years I've made some big pushes on trying to grow it but in the last 6 months or so I've taken a break.
I still check it once or twice a week and I think...
Also, you won't be posting art on bard that is worth scraping to the AI folks
Hypothetically on Bard artists can focus on telling stories with a few tools and approaches rather than creating masterpieces
And that's the goal anyway, to tell stories and express ourselves, not to create masterpieces
I would actually encourage visual artists on Bard to post more sketches and quick drawings with a focus on telling a story. Really focusing in on the storytelling elements of your work without fleshing everything out will help you learn while also allowing people to write stories for you
One thing I've learned using Bard is that making some decent artwork takes me about 10x as long as writing a decent story. This sort of hurts the community because it can take a lot longer for artists to collab.
However, there are two ways in which this is a good thing
