Art for Art Sake

I want to paint
like Rembrandt,
But unfortunately,
I find, that I can’t

‘It is love not thought which is the creative power and fundamental substance of the universe.’

An Astronaut’s Return
On his first day back,
He gingerly stepped,
Over the picket fence,
Smelt the apple pie,
Placed on the window
 In the porch.
He heard her singing,
Some number from the shows.
On his second day back,
The gravitational pull weakened
And though now he could only
Look at her from a distance
He remembered how
 No one on earth
Could feel the way he felt
When they had been together.

Remember this

I loved you long before
I was born
where nothing
Lived but my love.
Like moss on an arctic stone
And I will love you
Long after I die
And the day
You will waist
wearing black
With my drunk friends.

Come and see

Discover this day like no other
As the first-light bloom of an orchid
As a day at the races
As the blush of cloud across the moon
As a diamond all angles and romance
Through the eyes of Columbus and Armstrong
Then be ready to unfurl tomorrow.
