He also kind of look like Aaron Goldsmith’s brother. Did he deliberately style his hair like that to help him get the job?

Right, I'd say that the big message is to go out, let loose, have some silly fun with friends and like-minded strangers, find your freak community. If you just watch it at home or on a tablet, you're missing that.

The idea behind the Cumberbatch Sherlock was pretty much, what if Holmes is an autistic-coded genius "sociopath" (and Moriarty is the same)?

Meanwhile, Elementary was the superior show in every way.

Someone who knows that Zampolli had her working as a call girl when she met Trump, and whatever else she was doing within that circle.

Besides the mall stores, I often rode my bike to Peaches (later called Beeswax), Northwest Records & Tapes, and Budget Tapes & Records. When I could get to downtown Seattle, it felt like an exciting treat to descend the stairs to Bud's Jazz Records by the old Elliott Bay Books in Pioneer Square.

Plus they got Bradley for Jax, showing why it was a good idea to flip relievers for young SP. Varland hasn't given up a HR yet (in 11 IP), and he's bound to regress to some extent, but hopefully Rojas/Roden also will show why Falvey wanted them, anyway.

The Twins really missed a trick here.

And the ivy in Wrigley has only started to grow in. That's hardly baseball at all.

Has his skin cleared up recently? I get the sense that a dermatologist has helped the brother out even since last year. I’m less sure of this, but I think he may have cut back on the snorting in between pitches, too. Or maybe not.

If Merrill hadn’t robbed him of his HR the other day, Julio would have a .439 SLG in his last 15 games.

For his career, in the first half of the season, he has a .411 SLG.

115 wRC+, 0.3 fWAR over 15 games. He’s playing like a 3-win player the last couple weeks, still below his standards but not bad.

You mean, they changed the alphabet song?!?

Ironically (because '90s), the song from Go that leaps to mind is a '60s song (Magic Carpet Ride)

One of them should start to wear eyeliner and dye his hair black

He’s a poor tactician. I also don’t know what anyone in his place could do to make Julio, Cal, and Naylor stop playing like ass, like, right now.

John Halama once admitted that he didn't really like baseball, either.

I would like one of those jerseys.

The hat really looks like a promotion scheduled for 1994, but canceled because of the falling ceiling tiles and the strike, forgotten in some warehouse until someone got curious to look through some boxes last winter.

My kids went to their first MLB game, with my parents in Seattle, on August 12, 2015. They saw Hisashi Iwakuma throw a no-hitter against the Orioles. They still don't care about baseball.

I saw Felix's perfect game live on TV, but can't recall seeing anyone even come close while I was at the game.

Pavement even appeared on The Tonight Show and Conan. Malkmus was on the Letterman show. They played live on MTV and you could see their videos on 120 Minutes/Alternative Nation. Even if you didn't read Rolling Stone/SPIN/CMJ, where they were well-covered, they had their share of TV promotion, too.

The payroll imbalance problem really showed in the NL playoffs, where the Dodgers drew the Reds ($118.4M) in the WC Series, and the Brewers ($117.1M) in the NLCS. Imagine if either of them had spent any more than their cuts of the basic revenue-sharing pool, though.

I also just realized last night that several of the "firsts" for their respective clubs played minor roles rather briefly for the teams, some of the players were Cuban or Dominican (still an exploited class) . Almost like signing top African-American stars was not necessarily the highest priority.

He may be fine. This is just the 2nd time in 7 games that he *has not* pitched a scoreless inning. He also has a 4.36 FIP with a 6.75 BB/9, 1.35 HR/9, 14.3 HR/FB, which feels a bit concerning.

Lopes was in AAA for 3 seasons; hit .262/.339/.382 at age 25, .306/.383/.433 at 26, .317/.411/.476 at 27 and got called up in late September, when he hit .214/.327/.310 (84 OPS+) in 49 PA.

He may have been unfairly blocked at 26-27, but he also may have been a late bloomer, anyway.

I'd like to see the league, or at least the Guardians, have a Larry Doby Day, and also for each of the 16 pre-expansion clubs to wear the numbers of the players who first integrated their rosters. But then MLB and some clubs may not want to talk about why full integration took more than a decade.
