Heard the Orban news in the ICA post Radu Jude film via overhearing someone I know (but didn’t realise had been in the same screening as me) exclaiming “Orban’s fucked”

Doesn’t explain why no information was given on the platform nor why a panic was caused by a PA announcement on the train saying it was running fast to Dartford followed by the doors being locked

Yes I was on that train and was on the platform at Hither Green. Appalling comms to passengers

Stuck at hither green for over an hour, no care for passengers, poor comms. I could’ve walked home but I have a heavy suitcase and HGR isn’t step free from this platform either @serailway.bsky.social

London landlord begins evictions ahead of new renters’ rights law Asif Aziz’s Criterion Capital owns several apartment blocks in capital as well as Trocadero centre in Piccadilly

Asif Aziz evictions story is going mainstream. Telegraph and Independent have covered in recent days. Now the FT has done a brilliant piece - including finding another property affected, where a Ukrainian refugee and their disabled son are being evicted by Aziz. giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/...

You can’t pick more than five cinemas as favourites and it’s driving me mad. How is this an upgrade?

Wonderful slip by Rachel Reeves in her statement to the Commons.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’

At my hospital this is predated on the functions of 100s of admin staff being replaced with the NHS app and electronic patient records. The IT department focused exclusively on EPR for 6 months yet when it launched it broke so many things they turned it off and declared a critical incident.

🚨Watch Dr Grace Brown explaining the ROSCO rip-off.

🤑Private rolling stock companies extracted at least £410 million in profits in 2023, and at least £360 million a year for the last decade.

The new Rail Bill means the ROSCO gravy train keeps rolling, extracting huge profits from passengers.

Also maybe our “little treats” being cheap shouldn’t be reliant on exploitation of workers here or in the fields

Also, £5 coffee is a choice. I paid £3.60 in an indie place in Holborn yesterday. £20 pizza isn’t the norm either.

Cinema tickets mentioned here. The price of cinema tickets has fallen in real terms. The issue is that no one has any money due to rent, energy etc. fair wages are not the issue

Like everything else the answer is “it’s the rent, stupid”
