This Passover, we're sharing 2 photos from the SWC Archives.
The 1st, taken in 1946, shows Holocaust survivors in Sweden celebrating their first Passover Seder since liberation. The 2nd photo, captured in 1936, shows Jewish students in Germany observing Passover as Nazi persecution intensified.
We welcome the NYC Council’s passage of legislation to establish security perimeters around houses of worship and religious institutions.
When synagogues and other religious spaces have become targets, this law is a reminder that the promise of safety is not a luxury, but a birthright.
A recent wave of violent antisemitic attacks in Belgium & throughout Europe has impelled the Belgian government to deploy armed forces to protect Jews
These attacks makes clear that antisemitism is no longer confined to rhetoric; it's organized & increasingly violent.

Nazi authorities forced her mother to send a telegram reminding Helene that her family was subject to Nazi control.

February 13, 1945, marked the liberation of the Gross-Rosen concentration camp, though even in liberation there was continued suffering.
By the time Soviet forces arrived, the SS had already begun evacuating the camp.
