OK i got it working again seemingly. had to restore it Again™, and then it went Back into recovery, and then i had to restart it. (and then the remote was magically COMPLETELY dead somehow despite being perfectly fine one day ago). good gob
i dunno what it's deal is, my best guess is it got donked during a software update and this is what happens in that scenario. but i don't remember it pulling a software update any time recently or even an instance of power getting cut to it

my apple TV's been going absolutely haywire outta nowhere the last day or so. it's been rebooting, sends me to at least three separate recovery modes, pops up a "you're fucked man you gotta service it" screen twice and now i've just restored it which "takes a very long time" (took maybe 3 minutes??)

we can happily confirm that it was a requirement for all season three devs that no ai can be used in season three games. this includes art, music, writing, and, yes, code.
well under 50% uptime today, that's surely a good sign
some nice news on that front actually, they actually did change the rules recently so that games using AI for art, dialog, or audio aren't accepted into catalog as a baseline (though existing games will remain on the store)

i think one of the surest signs of maturity is that i've been recreationally using the function keys on the keyboard way more than i ever thought i would. it's like quicksand and the "tab" key have exactly inverse relations as to how often i thought i'd be interacting with them as a kid
