This is why so many conservatives are big government spenders just like liberals. Aside from differences over social issues both parties are pro but government.

Who is this woman and why does she have such an influence on the administration?

Did anyone think they really would?

Something that stands out to me (which others have pointed out) is that we have several demographic/cultural blocks in conflict with one another. On one side, Boomers-Gen X. On the other, Millennials and Gen Z.

A new classic.

Which is understandable. We're not going back to the 1950s.

We are in the post-truth era. Social media has only made it worse and I believe we haven't even begun to see what AI can do.

On a similar note I watched a video on demographics where the host said that one of the possible reasons for our declining birthrate could be that in today's world younger men and women are increasingly isolated from each other.

My mom once shared an image she believed was real though I saw it as an obvious fake. I had to explain that to her though I'm not sure if she believed me.

The public isn't informed.

Interesting. What is the difference?

Washingtonian here also! Our state, like OR, is a strange combination of the deepest blue surrounded by a sea of red.

No matter what anyone says it's big statism. Little different to rom what we see coming from the left.

The funny thing is that those who voted for Trump have little problem with socialism that is directed towards them.

"He says there are too many Puerto Rican flags around Allentown, too few schools teaching cursive and beginning with the Pledge of Allegiance."

‘We’re not going to pay for this tariff. US consumers are going to pay for it,”

It's hard to feel sorry about this whole mess. Working class people voted overwhelming for Trump. Let them eat the costs of his bad decisions.

It would be curious to know how many people do, and do not, have the ability to ask someone for help to drive them down to the office. For those that don't perhaps an alternative source of help could be found.

It's hard to feel sympathy for those who, in their rush to judgment on trans people and immigrants, are willing to cut off their noses to spite their faces.

If this is what the working class voted for then let 'em have it.

I watched the premier episode and that was it. Too depressing especially with everything going on right now. Also, I don't have that much time to dedicate to a single show.
