I really like the sound of it otherwise, but can the RAM really be enough? 4GB is no longer enough to run iOS smoothly, so I don’t think 8GB can be enough to run macOS smoothly. :s

Art. A map of the Mediterranean basin overlayed on top of a medieval mappa mundi (map of the world. The land features on the modern map are transparent, so you can see through to the medieval map underneath. The medieval map shows the whole world (from a particular medieval geographic perspective. On both versions, the Red Sea is drawn red. But ther are two of them. The geographies don't line up; the medieval map's Jerusalem is in located roughly in modern Albania on the modern map. * You should not go on crusade or pilgrimage with this map; it will not help. * Perhaps you can find Eric Adams there.
I was playing with this earlier in the week, and I rather like it. A combination of the 13th C. Psalter map of the world, and a more modern (as in, I drew it this week) map of the Mediterranean basin.
Oh I see, this is why it’s so well put together. youtube.com/watch?v=0D9H...
Can’t be sure it’s the culprit because iOS doesn’t surface any useful details, but sure feels like the Bsky native app is leaking memory or something like that.
Had lots of issues with my iPhone getting slower and slower as the day goes on, eventually even heating up and hiccuping hard. Feels like it’s running out of RAM.
Switched from the native @bsky.app to the web app 24h ago → no more issues.
I’ve added to ability to choose colors for buildings in my upcoming cozy building game, Island Architect.
You also get railings now when building terraces or balconies.

Indeed! It’s inspiring me to lean further into 2D in my current project. True 3D is such a damn pain!
This game’s not for me, but the demo was so well put together I wanted to post it, in the hopes that the right people see it. store.steampowered.com/app/1706510/...
Experimenting with the idea of running save files on the title screen for very smooth game-loading ...
Jungle biome seems like a good start for my #foliage learning journey, as it's just big planes 🥬
The Original Score for People of Note is now live on Bandcamp! Please consider buying it so I can afford to go on a vacation 😅

Today's work was figuring out a kit for temples
11 modules for now
also as an aside I think there's something very About Our Times having, in the same showcase, a game called "prove you're human" and a game where you run a store and have to check IDs to see if people are human or not
Here's a quick thread about how the procedural material is set up to enhance the details of the editable terrain in Island Architect, without baking any textures. Still details I want to add, but I'm happy with the foundation!
Here's the final result and the diffuse texture:

Lots of neat games here. If I had to pick a favourite, I’d go with Over the Hill. m.youtube.com/watch?v=rgDD...
Fortunately some of them love sharing their expertise. I’ve gotten a silly amount of help there for graphics programming. :D
But yeah. Slightly controversial again: lots of autists there, and we’re not the greatest at talking to people, and sometimes in denial about it.
The jungle takes shape 🍃
OST is out *now* on Bandcamp! :) Will hit spotify etc this week

Oof, yeah instances shutting down is frustrating. Gotta be careful of it here now too: Blacksky, Eurosky etc. can easily suffer the same fate.
I still don’t really know how to identify stable instances. I guess mastodon.social is always a safe choice.
Bluesky on the other hand feels… ok?
Much funnier for sure. The shitposting is great. Still maybe searching for its identity though.
Might be controversial to say, but I’ve begun to enjoy Mastodon more after accepting it as a social network mostly for neurodivergent people.
It’s small, but I honestly like having a place mostly just for us. It’s like the early internet again, but this time we know why we are the way we are.
Not sure how many people know this because I forget I even did it but like 10 years ago I made a mini comic based on Ozymandias

Working on some topology stuff. Trying to make a hand that deforms nicely with minimal loops. ✋🔧

a hill i would happily die on is that clickable thumbsticks are an unnecessary point of mechanical failure, result in unintended inputs, and are a huge RSI risk and they shouldn't be standard.
