I think it's a mistake to say they don't understand the technology, they do. The risks don't matter to them, control does, being able to pin all your online activity to your file somewhere is something they're willing to risk your safety for.
It's certainly worth the cost of your privacy to them.

Hi! Really looking forward to the book, my eyes tend to glaze over reading PDFs but when i got the 'format' so to speak, on first checking out the pre release version, i damn near jumped out of my chair. And the spell-book rules are fantastic!
